Very friendly and attentive! We loved the kitchen and the outside area.

The place was absolutely lovely. The room very comfortable and clean, the bed was huge and with a proper mosquito net. I had a great sleep. It's walking distance to the beach. As a solo traveler without own transport, I didn't stay many days, but nothing to do with the accommodation, just the area. Thanks!!

Spacious, clean room in calm surroundings. A lot of restaurants in the area, small supermarket right around the corner. Super friendly host taking good care of you. Opportunity to watch turtles at the beautiful beach within walking distance. Lots of fauna and flora to watch in the surrounding mangroves… highly recommended!

The host was really nice and brought me to a celebration in the town to see a parade. Later I went with him and his son to see turtles on the Beach, he was really making sure that I enjoyed my stay and provided so many information about the area. It was really great. It is beautifully located within in the lagoon and close to the turtle conservation area.

Amazing homestay, clean, cozy and beautiful, located close to Marakolliya beach. I had the most relaxing night sleep and it was hard for me to leave! The family is very kind and extremely helpful. I will be back next year! Truthfully recommended 💫

Excellent service the staff were all very welcoming and friendly , room was very clean, bed was great. They have a tuktuk at the homestay and price is great for getting closer into town!

Small family run Homestay little bit away from the beach. Hosts are super friendly, available anytime to help. Traditional Sri Lanka breakfast just perfect. Small shop just in few steps, a lot of restaurants around. Unbeatable value for money.

Fabulous Homestay accommodation next to the family home. Budget friendly, fantastic Sri Lankan home cooked food which was very good value, 1000 rupees each for dinner, six/seven dishes, we stayed for 7 nights and enjoyed breakfast and dinner every day. Gayan the host was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us, suggesting local sites of interest and arranging for us to hook up with some local turtle researchers and visit Rekawa beach to witness mumma turtles laying their eggs, a highlight of our stay. He even let us rent his motorbike, fully insured. A lovely family run Homestay, highly recommend if you are staying in Tangalle, the area has a lot to offer. Fabulous beaches as well.

The rooms were spacious and clean, great kitchen area, had a great veranda and a small garden around, grocery store 50 meters away, peacocks lived right in the yard. The owner was quite friendly and he solved several of our problems. PS: The area between Tangalle and Rekawa is very specific. Maracolia is enclosed between swamps. There is a lot of wildlife around, from peacocks and monkeys to sea turtles, which come in abundance to nest on Duna beach. There are considerable difficulties with transport accessibility, so be ready to walk a lot or ride a tuk-tuk. To watch sea turtles you don't have to pay money: you can come to the PROJECT KAPUHENWALA point closer to sunset and walk along the seacoast in any direction. We saw 3 turtles in the evening. There are always huge ocean waves at sea. The only bay without big waves for swimming with children you can find near the Mangrove Beach Chalets, and the shortest way there will be through Lagoon Paradise Beach Resort and further along the bridge and Big Crocodile bar. Don't be shy, just go straight to the main gate and go straight through the reception, that's the way it's done here. And if you order a cocktail even once during your entire trip, they'll be just happy. They blocked the road to the sea and they understand it. Also for 5USD you can rent cool kayaks for the whole day at the Eco Cabanas Marakolliya to explore the lagoons.

poor sound insulation of the rooms, the garden was not completely private because the owner's house was not separated from the rented villa by a solid wall.

My wife and I had an amazing and relaxing stay at this guesthouse during our motorcycle journey. This place is truly a hidden gem! The guesthouse is located in a wonderfully quiet area, perfect for unwinding after a long ride. The rooms were impeccably clean and cozy, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The grounds are beautifully maintained, creating a peaceful and inviting atmosphere. The owner is friendly and made us feel right at home. The added bonus of having a kitchen onsite was fantastic—it’s well-equipped and convenient for preparing meals. Additionally, there are plenty of charming home-style restaurants in the area, offering a variety of delicious local dishes. Overall, this guesthouse exceeded our expectations and provided the perfect blend of comfort, tranquility, and convenience.
