I liked everything about that place.

Even if only for a few days, Maliyakal Homestay truly felt like a ‘home away from home’. The hosts, Mr Sanal & Mrs Selvi, are amazing people, welcoming and always keen to ensure the stay is going well. The room itself was great; spotlessly clean, A/C and with a comfy mattress, which isn’t always the case in India. There is also a desk in case you need to work remotely. The en-suite bathroom was equipped with power shower and spotless. I declined the dinner option during my stay however I had breakfast every day and it gave me the possibility to taste real Kerala food, freshly made and enjoy seasonal fruits too. Full access is also provided to the upstairs kitchen and coffee/tea making facilities are available. The house also has a typical Kerala style terrace which was the ideal spot to enjoy coffees and read, surrounded by luscious trees. As for the location, the house is set in a small, quaint village. It is very quiet and it’s the ideal spot to get away from the chaos for a few days. I had the chance to explore some of the nearby beaches, villages and interact with many of the locals (thanks also to Mr Sanal who took the time to share advice and also show me around). He is very knowledgeable and truly passionate about sharing information about the area and Kerala culture in general. He is also a certified tour guide. Overall I had an amazing experience and I will definitely go back during my next trip to Kerala. Highly recommended. Grazie mille :)

A great family! The staff îs very friendly, helpfull,smiley, careful. În a quite area, few minutes walking to bus and tuk tuk station. 10 minutes to beach by tuk tuk. Lot of shops very close. 5 minutes walking from a bar. A very good breakfast and dinner at homestay. The room, living and kitchen very big. AC and hot water.Thank you very much, I will again there.

Fabulous host's beautiful property it's more like an apartment than a room. Big shared lounge with dinning table large kitchen fab balcony. It's in a quiet area but that suited us maybe not for some. Saying that there are lots of buses that can quickly whisk you to fort Kochi or further up the coast. The family that ran it are amazing it was like we became part of their family immediately. we ate a couple of evening meals at the property superb and at a great price. If you want to relax but be able to go into the busy area i would totally recommend it.

Very comfortable and clean. Very accommodating staff, and the meals were delicious. In a local quiet town, I had a great time walking around.

1 hour away from fort kochi, but if you want a less touristic beach then this is isn’t a problem.

We spent wonderful days with Sanal and Selvi in their homestay! From the first moment we felt like part of their family and like home. The room was very nice, quiet and clean. Every morning we got amazing breakfast and Selvi let us try one of her amazing cakes. Sanal took us for a wonder sightseeing tour to see some local temples and synagogue. I would definitely recommend this homestay to everyone. They are an amazing welcoming family with a wonderful kindness in their heart.

Amazing hospitality by the proprietor Mr. Sanal and Mrs. selvi Sanal. Homely foods are tasty and the best place to connect three beaches and backwaters. Sure I recommend this place to those who prefer home away from home expectations with a clean environment.

Everything is fine

Lovely family who went out of their way to help, offer suggestions and even invite and take us to temple festival. They made us feel part of their family.

It was spacious, well equipped, comfortable and separate accommodation for guests if we needed it.
