Gangga Homestay

The highlight of this homestay is the view from the room and the welcoming & warmhearted family. The room is simple but clean & cozy, had a good sleep. They served also delicious breakfast better than in some more expensive accommodations. You will be located in the middle of Munduk village, be ready for steady roads up/ down. The owner took me on his bike to the starting point of the rice terraces path & waterfall path. Munduk is very beautiful place, breath taking views whenever you go.

As suggestion, would add bedside lamp to add more cozy light at night.

The host was amazing! Very helpful and welcoming. And she cooks great, some of the best foods we had in Indonesia was there :). She even prepared breakfast for us at 5:30AM, because we were leaving early! Also, the surrounding area is beautiful, the view on the rice fields is great, and You could sleep well there - it actually is peacefull (which is not that easy to find in Indonesia).

I was not aware of how far it is to Munduk - 30 minutes of walk, up and down all the time. With such a hot weather, without a motorbike it can be inconvenient. Also, would be great to clean (or replace) the curtains and the mosquito net (which have many stains on them and are not appealing..), refresh the walls (the paint is peeling off in many places) and fix the bathroom doors (it's hard to close them). Anyway, the price-to-quality ratio is still good :). But I am surprised nobody mentioned in in the reviews before.

The host, the view, the breakfast, the little roads to walk around! It is lovely to stay here. We spent 4 nights. From here we could go to many beautiful waterfalls shortly. I attach an image of the map that shows you the less steepy roads to go there. There are many little roads that take you to the homestay, but some of them are scary steepy! We followed Google map to go there on the arriving day and it was my horrible 30 minutes on that scary steepy roads. It’s nice to walk only, not by motobike.

It is quite a journey to reach if you are walking as the road has many ups and downs, but you can take scooter if you don’t want to walk and the effort is worth it. Just a wonderful location in a village with nearby rice terraces and jungle walks. The view is amazing and the family so kind and genuine.

Gangga homestay is a perfect location to discover Munduk. Great spot to recover from long walk, with view and kidness of the family.

The family that runs the guesthouse is absolutly wonderfull. Good bed. Location with view on rice fields. Ideal location for hiking. Breakfast and dinner are delicious.

The bathroom had a moist smell, but that's something we encountered more often in Indonesia.

We were very much welcomed by the staff. Daki is such a sweet and helpful guy. He was very nice with our kids, played musical instruments with them and even helped them with flying the kite. The location is beautiful and we could enjoy nice views right from the bed. Each room as its own terrace facing the view.

It’s good to know that there is around 1km walk from the homestay to the centre mostly uphill to reach the main road. The walk is pleasant but might be challenging with young kids. However Daki has kindly offered us to call him to send some one for us should we need. We still enjoyed the walk exploring the area where we encountered local people going by their usual day and stopped at local “restaurants” for drinks.

The hosts were amazing and very helpful. The food was delicious. Beautiful surroundings!
