Pondok Diana

This was my first ever home stay experience so it’s hard to compare. Pera who is Diana’s daughter was lovely and showed me to my room and the roof with an amazing view. She made a lovely small breakfast each morning for my 2 day stay. Set amongst fields and palm trees it’s an easy 20 mins walk to Virgin beach. Diana son dropped me down the virgin beach one morning and was lovely to talk to and would not take my money when I offered to him for driving me down. I really liked virgin beach and really spent all my time here from sun up to sun down and there were lots of warungs and sunbed options to rent for the day. It was very inexpensive for me to stay at Pondok Diana, very well priced and good wifi. Diana and his family were very nice and helpful! You can see they enjoy hosting people and talking to them!

As I said I’d never stayed at a home stay before so was a bit of an experience! The room was large and did have aircon however doesn’t cool much as there are open windows and space above the door so the cool air gets sucked straight back out. I had brought a little handheld fan on my trip which I used and helped cool me down. No hot water, only cool so that kept me cool also and was fine not having hot water with it being hot days. If you like hot water note there is none. As window are open mosquitoes do get in the room. I had spray so popped that on. No Fridge which wasn’t a huge issue for me but would have been handy to keep water cold. 2 nights was perfect for me, that’s all you need.

Friendly hosts. Close to beautiful beach. Big room.

I am pretty sure that the bed sheets where not clean as they smell weird. Also the room is painted with wird dark colours to resemble the outdoors, but brown colour walld are not nice for a bedroom that needs to be relaxing.

It was the best place we have ever stayed, in the beautiful nature, surrounded by hundreds of birds and jungle plants. Here for a short time we could enjoy the real Bali! The sunrise was magical and the family is lovely, helpful. The pancake for breakfast was good. Just one more tiny, but very important thing: here was the first time, when the windows were perfectly clean, so we had a really good view.

A bit dirty kitchen

Diana and the girl were amazing hosts. She has been cooking very nice meals and they have been helping us with the motorbike accident we had. Super nice location in the middle of the rice fields and close to Virgin Beach.

We know we were going in very basic accommodation and it was fine with us but for the price we paid, compared to other places where we have been in Bali, we were expecting a little bit more from the structure. The bed was comfortable but the place needs some work, especially the toilet.. This could be the reason to go and stay with them, to bring them money to fix some stuff! For sure they are very nice, helpful and welcoming people ❤️
