Marigold Inn- Homestay

Everything was very good. There was a cook who made the breakfast and the dinner. Very nice food! The rooms were great. Many space and a good shower. We had a warm welcome of the owner.

Beautiful property. Staff very helpful. Janu is very accommodating. Breakfast was good. Rides to and from the metro were great. Drivers to Jaipur main sites were knowledgeable. Nice to have Netflix to watch English TV.

Surrounding neighborhood was difficult to walk in and could be noisy—but that is India!

Incredible hotel…….these guys really have created the perfect base in Jaipur. Rooms are amazing, spotlessly clean and they have thought about every single little extra, even hair straighteners!! Our best stay in the whole 5week tour around India.

That we had to leave

The room was amazing, bigger than I expected with all the necessary appliances and toiletries for my stay. Breakfast was served from 7 to 10:30 am, free of charge if you had it around this time as well; needless to say, it also tasted quite good. I must also say, their rooftop offers an amazing view of the city! I enjoyed sipping my chai will looking across the landscape of homes. The staff themselves were very friendly and helpful whenever I had a question or needed a recommendation for anything pertaining exploring the city. Some of the hotel staff drivers will even offer to take you around the city for the whole day (They charged 1,500 INR for the day, which is better pricing than other agencies I inquired with). Whenever I had a problem or question, the hotel staff himself would make his way to my room speedily to try to address the issue. All in all, for the 2 days I stayed there, it was a very generous experience; I would recommend to anyone traveling to Jaipur to stay here and would even book this accommodation myself.

1. A couple of things could be improved; for example, the hot water always ran out super quickly when showering... which it wasn't too bad, but it's something to be aware of that could happen to you. 2. Also, my driver and some of the staff would tell me to avoid shopping in the Bazaar to avoid getting poorly made material, but when my Tuk-tuk driver offered to take me to a shop to get fabric, I was majorly ripped off. I do not hold this against the hotel or anything, because this could happen anywhere and bargaining is always essential...don't be distracted or fooled by all the statements about their products being handmade, or its a family business, or the use the Camel's Hair or Cashmere. 3. Now the 1,500 INR charge for the driver to take you around is a good deal if you don't want the hassle of having to book an auto or uber for every location and if you want to visit a lot of places in one day; the downside is that you are likely to feel rushed. Traveling on your own, via the metro and booking using uber will end up being much cheaper and you will be more flexible with your time. But once again, weigh the pros and cons; do you want convenience and to move quickly, or do you prefer to save a money and take your time. 4. The charge to pick up from the airport to the hotel is a bit outrageous, it cost 1,000 INR... On my way back to the airport, I booked an uber for roughly $300 INR. With all this said, these cons are just things to be aware of, however, the pros so heavily outweigh the cons that I am still saying this is a solid 9.5....
