Valiyathayil Home Stay

David was very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. He gave local advice and even had us try a homemade wine! The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious. It was great to have access to a kitchen where tea, coffee and filtered water were provided. The communal space and balcony were also lovely! It was in a great location away from the noise of the road. We would definitely stay again!

Polite and cordial hosts. They made sure that we're comfortable. Location was really good. All basic facilities were available in the building.

Room was not exactly the one we were expecting, however we were doing a last minute booking and only that was available. Although it was comfortable for a day's stay, might not be preferable for longer stays. Better rooms are available in the building but will have to book early during peak season.

Price was ok and the communications before arriving was good.. but after....

I never give a bad review but we had a really bad experience with the owner and the place. Don't expect a good night sleep and also must say that a home stay needs to know how to open his territory for guests.. he has a lot to learn about hosting

A truly amazing family looks after you like you are a part of their family. David and Sheela met me at the airport for a late night flight, ensured that I had a meal and coffee as we passed by the last few open restaurants and phoned ahead to the property for the air conditioning to be turned on in my room. After a hot breakfast of idlis, sambar and chutney and coffee, the next morning, David hailed and bargained with an auto rickshaw driver to get me the best fare to my destination for that day. Taking the best route back to the airport that evening, David and Sheela took it as their personal responsibility to get me there on time and called afterwards to check if I had obtained my boarding pass. Truly amazing service, genuine care and warmth at a comfortable property.
