"Great Experience!"

10.0

I stayed at this hotel for a little over a month while studying abroad at the local university. The hotel was accommodating in every way. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel is great. Just a 5-10 minute walk from the Hauptbahnhof (central station), and the tram station to take you anywhere in the city is directly in front of the hotel. There are local bars, a couple grocery stores, laundry, and a bank nearby. The hotel owners, Mr. and Mrs. Kummel, are very sweet and care about every guest! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

"Excellent and charming family owned hotel in a great location"

10.0

After staying in this lovely hotel for 3 whole weeks and sleeping in a couple of their rooms I can recommend the Hotel Rheinischer Hof without any limitations! The furniture is charming and everything was always SPOTLESS CLEAN! The hotel is in an excellent location (with an over ground station right in front of the hotel, in walking distance to the main station, and close to the town centre and Zoo) and the staff is very friendly and supportive! An additional insider tip is their breakfast: great value for price! And for those who wants to eat out: There are many great restaurants, diners, bakeries and supermarkets really close by!

"Very bad"

4.0

The room I stayed was really bad, bad smell inside, internet hept dissapearing, shower very old style with moults inside....maybe I was unlucky getting such a bad room as I saw other people rooms and they were much better. Breakfast was very poor, after first morning I stopped eating there. You get couple pieces of bread with some butter and few pieces of soursage, and boiled egg...dust coffee is also available....

"Great stay"

10.0

It was the first time for me to travel with my wife and daughter (they stay here every time they go to Duisburg). Staff was very great, breakfast was great, the room was very good and the location is fantastic! Definitely to be recommended! A great mix between hotel and B&B (British point of view only!), as we don't have establishments like that here in UK. Thank you!!!

"Comfortable and cozy"

8.0

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. It is family owned and they treat you like family. Breakfast was good. The rooms are a little outdated. The beds were comfortable but creaked a lot. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here.

"Not bad, not good"

6.0

The accommodation is a bit outdated. The rooms are not particular large. The beds have seen better days; very noisy. However, the staff is very friendly and helpfull. Breakfast is perfect. Parking is good possible. The location is on walking distance of a not very interesting centre of the town. Directed by the concierge we found opposite the street an excellent traditional German pub (Konig Haus) with great food and great beer.

"Clean, practical, freindly and inexpensive"

10.0

This Hotel provides an excellent price value ratio! Furthermore, being a family run place return customers receive a friendly welcome. Nothing about the place is luxurious and fancy, but everything is adequate and functional. The peace is very clean, and recently renovated. WiFi , elevator, hot water all works efficiently. Breakfast is good if not remarkable. The railway station and the University are in walking distance, and the center is not much further. A taxi stand and a streetcar station are on either side of the house. shops and restaurants are around the corner.

"prima!"

10.0

Stayed here for a month for a study abroad trip and it was absolutely wonderful! The room was quaint and I loved the "window room"which showed a beautiful view on the 4th floor. Breakfast was amazing every day amd the staff was always helpful and so nice to talk to. No matter any issue it was resolved in a timely manner. The best part of the day was coming back after class to smiling faces.I highly recommend this hotel if you ever stay in Duisburg!

"ausgezeichneter aufenthalt!!! fabulous stay!!!"

10.0

my 3-yr-old daughter and i stayed at the RHEINISCHER HOF DUISBURG for the first time to visit family. there was a last-minute amendment and they handled it positively, as my sister decided to stay with us a couple of nights (ergo: the 2-bed-room had to be changed into a 3-bed-room). although we had to change rooms after those 2 nights (as my sister had to go back to work), it was actually a great experience to see different rooms at the hotel. i must say, the RHEINISCHER HOF is excellent - not just the acknowledging and friendly staff (included the owner HERR KüMMEL), but also both rooms were very clean and very tidy. the 3-bed-room was huge!!! perfect family room!!! ok, the bathroom is on the small side, but yet very clean and tidy (in fact, as we were just in the hotel in the evenings, it was more than perfect). the 2-bed-room is great: not too small, but it was great for my daughter and me. although, the only downside is, that the WC is next door. now, that would not bother me, ususally, but in the night time i was a bit worried about my daughter waking up and being 'left' on her own, but that did not happen - so all was good. as we had breakfast out, we did not get to experience the breakfast at the hotel, so there is no comment about that. we definitely recommend this hotel!!! oh, before i forget, there is one more great positive reason to stay there: LOCATION!!! wherever we stay, i always need to know where the closest supermarket and the pharmacy are (for my daughter). you get out the main door, turn right and you can already see the supermarket, one pharmacy (and another one across the road on the other side) and a bank. not to mention, that it is, just like it says in the hotel description, walking distance to the train station and the city centre. so, all in all: if you want to stay in a hotel in duisburg, but you do not want to stay in the city centre, stay at the RHEINISCHER HOF. staff, rooms, cleanliness, friendliness, location etc - you got it all!!! we will come back - that is for sure!!! (p.s.: below under 'sleep quality' i gave the rating 4/5, only because i have backproblems and can sleep best with firmer matresses, for others, i am sure, it would be perfect - so not a general negative, but a personal one)
