A bit far out of town

Great location. Wonderful staff who were very helpful. Fabulous views off balcony.

Great location to base yourself if you're heading up the Gorge independently (we were on bike). Big comfortable rooms, water dispensers, free packet noodles so you always have an option if you don't feel like going out, quiet spot amongst the ride paddies

Only a handful of restaurants nearby in Xincheng but all a bike or car ride away (long walk).

It was a short walk to the train station. Everything we needed was provided and the staff were very nice. Decor was interesting and colorful. Lovely little hotel cat! We stayed here the night of the Hualien earthquake and despite this the staff carried on with a smile. We were only here as trains were cancelled.

It felt odd that we had to take off shoes before entering the hotel reception area, also a strange message in the room asking us to keep the floor towel separate from the other towels. We understand that it is for hygiene reasons but it comes across as OCD.
