Peraja Bungalows Loyok

We stayed for a day on the way to Mt Rinjani. Loved it - very peaceful place in the middle of rice fields. Food was good as well.

Great location, very kindness andhelpful staff.

Early in the morning, around 4:30 am, the sound of prayers from the mosque and the chirping of chickenswas so loud that I was forced to wake up.

Proactive and nice transport via own driver of hotel (although not too cheap). Driver gives good tips and takes you to personal rice field tour / his home if you want. Very nice accommodation / little resort with no other guests around in our case (even it was main season end of June). No tourist over there in the whole area, which is nice and calm

WiFi only worked after two complaints. Very limited food menu (same for breakfast, lunch and dinner) with limited quality of dishes unfortunately Hard to communicate with staff in English (although there is a lot of staff) Not too cheap for accomodation, driver and trips (compared to other accomodations in Lombok) Very loud due to several mosques around the hotel, which start at night (we knew about that before, but it was worse than expected. Calm sleep it not possible, if you are not used to this) We discovered that this hotel has bought over 1.000 false google reviews to push itself, which we felt bad with. During our stay we also has a feeling of being monitored all the time over there, which was a bit unconvinient…

The place is set in beautiful surroundings of rice fields where you can get a glimpse into the everyday life. The staff was very friendly (don‘t be shy to ask if you want your room cleaned, have dinner in your terrace, join the public pool etc).

The food options are a bit limited. No negative, but just something to consider: As the place is in a Muslim community you will hear the call to prayer many times, also in the very early morning. The mosque is very close by.

We stayed here for one night after hiking Rinjani, and this was the perfect spot nearby that offered us some comfort. It also has a restaurant on site. The staff were very friendly and attentitive

This was one of the best stays we had in Lombok - the place is small and quiet, surrounded by beautiful rice fields. Our bungalow was new and they were installing the air con in it when we arrived. We booked a room but loved the bungalow and they allowed us to change the room type without any extra charges. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice sitting area on a terrace in the front with stunning view. The staff was very nice but almost nobody spoke English - we speak a bit of Indonesian and with the help of the translator we were able to communicate with them :) but it was a challenge. The wifi was really good in this accommodation. And it is managed by a lovely people who made us feel like home! We spent some amazing time there and even stayed one night longer than we initially planned :) This area is non touristic at all which we appreciated but we had some challenges in terms of communicating with local people and finding place to eat. Scooter is very helpful when you stay in this area which we could rent in the property for a good price. Please also bear in mind that Lombok is a Muslim country and there are mosques everywhere. This place is surrounded by them and as we were there in Ramadan time we did not get much sleep. It was very loud until late at night and they start prayers very early. This is a case in whole Lombok, not only in this place so we accepted it as we were guests in this island.

Almost everything was perfect but as I mentioned above it was a challenge to communicate with the staff as they did not speak good English. They also did not tell us that we had to pay extra for a juice with our breakfast - it was ok and the price was good but it would be nice to know in advance to be aware of additional costs. We stayed in this place during Ramadan time so there were no food options but we understand that normally it is much easier to get some food there. The room could also use some small fridge :)

The property was located in a small rural village of Loyok. It gave me a chance to experience the true culture of Indonesian life.

Good and friendly owners. nice location and good view of the rice terraces. A beautiful house, a pleasant smell of wood inside.

The owners didn't have time to prepare the room for my arrival. Do not go here during Ramadan, or stock up on beroushas. The hot water in the shower was cut off three times, I had to call the staff. The first time we were given bed linen with stains. And finally, do not rent a room on the first floor - your neighbors will not let you sleep, the whole house resonates when someone just walks upstairs.

The bungalow room, private pool and breakfast spot with a view onto the rice fields are one of a kind, especially since we were the only guests there. Most notable, though, was Zul who was very welcoming, showed us around the rice fields and even invited us to his family’s fast-breaking during Ramadan. That was an unforgettable experience and made the stay well worth it.

There is some room for improvements. We would have preferred an AC and mosquitoes nets in the room, the restaurant’s menu was in Indonesian only and with a relatively limited selection and communication with most of the other staff was difficult at times, though some of them certainly made an effort. Furthermore, a shuttle service from the port or airport would have been helpful, or at least an indication what a reasonable price would be. All in all, we found the price relatively steep for what it is, but then Zul and his family really outdid themselves and gave us a very unique experience. Without him or hadn’t we been the only guest, things might have been different.
