Interesting homestay in a temple complex; a typical Balinese style home. Quiet area a 15 minute walk from main area. I preferred being this far from city center. If you get one of the a/c rooms the balcony there’s a nice view of the jungle. We actually stayed here 10 days, not 2, but the other 8 were reserved offline due to upgrading our room. Room needs to be fixed though. Big hole in the ceiling that dripped water on us. Protect your belongings. Bed is super comfy in the a/c rooms! It was cool renting out both a/c rooms with our friend because we got to be neighbors and have a private balcony. No dance clubs near by so we got great sleep and enjoyed the jungle sounds. You will need to walk a bit to the street with yummy cafes, but there’s a new family owned Indian place right down the road with cheap yummy food and a simple menu. Overall, it’s an okay budget stay but not without its issues!

No kitchen or fridge. No drinking water on site. Large moldy whole in the ceiling which dripped water on our heads during the night when it was raining, but we moved the bed out of the way immediately. They came to look at it the next day, but the rain stopped so we’re not actually sure if they fixed it, beware! Communication is a little poor and awkward; the older women came banging on our door at 10pm when we were asleep to ask a question that could have waited until the morning. When trying to pay she said our room would be double the price, but she was really trying to say the a/c vs fan room different prices. She knocked again at 10am when we’re just waking up trying to shower and get ready for the day. She also made some rude comments asking if I speak English, when actually her English was barely intelligible. I wasn’t judging her but she sure was sassy to me! The younger women and younger man were kind though. Other than those two occasions, privacy wasn’t an issue, but she was a bit abrasive so I/we avoided her. Also, they don’t provide cleaning services often, nor is it very thorough. We had to ask them and they only cleaned our rooms one time during 10 days, when the standard in Bali is once every 3 days and they said they were too busy so they cleaned it the next day and gave us fresh towels once in 10 days. (ours and our friends room too). There is black mold on the ceiling but that’s common in Bali. They should paint over it for the guests health. It’s an okay budget stay other than these issues.

Clean room. Quiet neighborhood.

1) WiFi doesn't work inside the room. 2) I felt the owner was sarcastic. To be honest, I didn't enjoy small talk with her. 3) They don't do a laundry for house guests although they wash a lot of clothes and hang them in the porch everyday. It's not a big problem for us because there's some laundry shops nearby, but I'm not sure why they are unhappy to do so.

The owners are a super nice and helpful family. Our room was on a second floor, with a terrace overlooking gardens and backyards. Very pleasant and green. You could even see volcanoes in a distance. The room was spacious and clean, the bed was very comfortable, AC worked well. Whole place felt very private. Good for couples. We couldn’t hear any scooters or cars, which is very apprieciated in busy Ubud. We booked 2 nights but ended up staying for 6. We rented a scooter from them for a week, we’ve seen most of the island, new and reliable machine.

The sink and toilet could be cleaner. There could be more hooks to put your stuff. But overall I would recommend staying here and I would return in the future.

Great location, great hosts, nice view from the room over the rainforest. Hot water, fan in the room, they can give fridge also to store food. I stayed there for a month and it became like home to me. I even could make coffee in a coffee pot, the hosts helped with the fire

The shower was a little old, needs changing.

Room with bathroom for this price is great!

quite place close city center, the personal accepted and welcomed me very cheerful like their own family member. Their area is big and with nice view from the building to the mountain. Cool and cheap option in the heart of Ubud.
