Forsthaus Merzalben Hostel

We booked a room in Forsthaus Merzalben and within an hour we got a personal response from the owner. Everything, from checking in to checking out, went smoothly and with lots of love! The owner is a very nice man with a good and happy vibe around him. This was definitely the best stay so far in Germany and I would definitely come back again. The area is beautiful, the rooms clean and comfortable, the owner is very nice and the information given is spot on! Thanks so much for this experience!!

Amazing host: Dennis really was very accomodating with the flexible check-in and check-out and was always available if we needed anything else. He also provided us with some good tips for the surroundings and some booklets and maps which helped us with hiking. Room: very spacious, comfortable, clean, modern and stylish. It is also quiet and feels personal, since there are just a few rooms available. Facilities: good bed, roomy table to have a drink at and play some board games, toilets and showers shared but clean and comfortable. Free parking space available on the terrain and just across the rood. Location: small village. Peaceful and quiet. Very safe. Perfect base to explore the area. Tip (as with all villages in Germany): bring enough cash, because some restaurants, bakeries, etc. don't take cards. Amenities: TV with built-in chromecast option was nice to have available. Two good fridges (with freezer compartments as well) to keep your drinks and food. Good quality coffee and tea for free, which is very nice. There is also the option to buy some beers, food and snacks for very reasonable prices. The kitchen seemed to have everything you should need, but we didn't test it. There also is a sauna. We didn't use that either but it looked comfortable. There is a comfortable terrace outside which was nice to make use of. Conclusion: much more than you would expect from a 'hostel'. It feels like a good bed and breakfast, but without breakfast option. Really good value for money and an amazing host!
