Arthur's is a gem in the Mentawai's. The accomodation is everything you need, cool AC, clean water, an on-site kitchen, and the opportunity to pay for boat trips to go surfing or snorkeling. You can rent scooters directly from the staff and explore the beautiful village and the surrounding island. The staff and the locals are fantastic, friendly people that are keen to help you with whatever you need. Thank you Barnabus, Rinto, Raul, and Radi!

"Good place"

The location is wonderful, right in front of Mapaddegat beach, one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen. The place is well organized, and has the best chef, Cici. The bed is comfortable, but with different people fighting over the air conditioning temperature, it would be nice to offer a blanket and not just a sheet. I was cold for a few days and couldn't turn up the air conditioning temperature.

The bathroom needs to be cleaned more thoroughly and it would be nice to have at least one shower with hot water, not everyone likes cold water in the shower (my personal characteristic). I stayed at the hostel for 5 days and saw woman staff working alone in the cleaning, tidying and cooking, which in my opinion is too much work for one person alone. They could hire someone to help the staff keep the place cleaner, especially the bathroom.
