It is very close to Suryanelli Jeep Safari point. If you want to book a jeep in advance (for 6 members, Rs.2500 and for single, Rs.500+whatever you like! It is one hour off-road driving and therefore, it is a reasonable amount. But call him in advance so that you can reach the hill top before sunrise), you may contact Balamurugan and his number is 9188489887. If you are looking for a visit to Kolukkumalai Sunrise point in Munnar, my advice is to stay here for one day so that you don't need to travel from elsewhere early morning to reach here at 4.30 am. It is not luxurious, even fan is not there but still will feel at home with the natural climatic condition. My point is that when you visit Munnar don't book in a single place but book in different places. For example, for all other trips from Munnar, you can book 2 nights in a place within 2-3 km radius of Munnar and then book one day in Beniel Homestay in Suryanelli specifically for Kolukkumalai Sunrise, Pooppara visit, Boat Ride in Anayirangal Lake. If you reach Suryanelli by noon on the first day and if you are a bit adventurous, you must visit Phantom Hills to see sunset which is just 3km away from Beniel Homestay in Suryanelli. If you like Kerala dishes, Lake View Hotel is there (again not luxurious but at the same time, very tasty meals and other items) just 1km away from Beniel Homestay and you will get a fantastic view of Anayirangal Lake from there. Black tea was provided early morning at 4 am upon request!
