Thalia Homestay & Ijen Bromo Tour

Super lovely and helpful owner.

The host was lovely, we received complementary breakfast and there was free coffee and tea. The air con was good, bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of space. We booked the Mt Ijen tour through Thalia which was great and simple to book.

We used the room to leave our bags to go up Mount Ijen solo with scooters and no guide.

The entire room is mouldy, the room stinks of mould. And I won’t even talk about the shared bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend sleeping there, you will probably finish sick. But very practical to leave backpacks to go up mount Ijen solo without a organised tour.

Location is great. The hosts are super lovely and I even got breakfast when coming back from Ijen.

Single room was a smoker room and super smelly. Matress on the floor in a rather dirty place. Wholes in the wall which were covered up which kept falling down onto bed. Everything in the room is old and falling apart. Unfortunately very loud with scooter coming in and out the backyard all night. The door feels very broken and unsafe especially with your head right next to it on the floor. Stayed for the same price in much better places. Maybe ok for one or two nights but not a place to relax.

Nothing luxurious but relatively clean and definitely worth the money. Nice place if you don’t wanna spend much money on accommodation.
