The Pondok

SOMEONE STOLEN USD 300 from me in this place. This place THE PONDOK is the same owners as EBUCU. The staff is the same. I was staying in a private room alone, so it must have been someone who had a copy of the key. I am a solo traveler. So when I realized that I had been robbed, I didn't dare say it at the time for fear of the person who did it. I then decided to check out and contact the owner via WhatsApp when I was no longer there. I contacted him and he told me that since I already left, he can't do anything, because I checked out and they may have robbed me on my trip after I checked out. I tell him again that I realized that they robbed me WHILE I was at his house, but that I was afraid to say it while I was there. He tells me the same thing again. He tells me that he consulted his staff and they all say that no one touched anything. When I talk to him, he seems super disinterested in the subject, the only thing he repeats to me over and over again is that he can't do anything because I left, at no time did he apologize or try to find a solution. He told me that he asked the money exchange places if anyone changed and that he also asked the staff and they all said no. He told me to go to the police to look at the fingerprints and the police did not take the report because I am no longer in Lombok. I wrote to the owner again two days later telling him and he continues to ask me the same questions of “why didn't I tell him at the time”, it's as if he hadn't listened to me when we spoke before because I had already explained it to him two days ago. Super disappointing. And I decide to do this review because I don't want ANYONE to go through what I go through. It is unfair and as travelers we deserve respect. It makes me very sad, (I’m gonna continue down 👇🏼)

I always stay in home stays, I have been in Indonesia for two months and in all the places I stayed it was an incredible experience, I felt like family and very happy and that is why I always trust and nothing ever happened to me HERE IN THE PONDOK , It is the first time in my life that something like this has happened and that is why I am doing this review. SOME ONE STOLE ME FROM MY ROOM .They didn't even apologize to me, or give me my money back, or anything. I have never given a bad review of any place, I don't like doing it, but I know I can't leave things like that. We are a network of travelers who deserve to support each other and warn each other THANK YOU and I hope it helps you A big hug

Friendly and accommodating staff. Quiet place

The loud prayer calls early in the morning.

Clean and spacious, best homestay I stayed in Kuta Lombok! Family was super nice and you also have access to the kitchen/fridge plus the yummy breakfast included everyday.

Comfortable bed and a a mosquito net is provided. Air con in the room. WiFi was very good throughout our stay. Good location, a short walk down to one of the main streets in Kuta. Staff were very responsive to any requests, and happy to help in anyway they could.

Bungalow is basic, and fairly small. Not a huge amount of space to store bags, etc. Some issues with the power shutting off at times, though staff were fairly quick to rectify.

The Pondok was a perfect and lovely place to stay. It was so great that I extended my stay from a week to a month. The owner and his family are lovely people. They were so helpful with everything, especially when I crashed on my motorbike. The place is very clean, bed is comfortable and big, and the wifi is great. The setup also feels very private and safe. It feels like you have your own little yard! There is also a kitchen which is very convenient a few feet away. It is in a perfect location that is very walkable with amazing restaurants and warungs minutes away. A lovely yoga place, Shanti Yoga is a 10 minute walk and the beach is a 20 min walk.  I would give this place more stars if I could. I highly, highly, highly recommend the Pondok. Great value!

Really friendly and helpful staff, such a lovely stay that I ended up coming back again! The place is secluded yet centrally located and the room was very nice. Good value for money!

Only minor but a couple of times I was owed change from my stay and for laundry but was not offered this back.

Staff absolutely amazing. Rented us motorbike (cheapest in Indonesia so far). Got us the transport to Gili Trawangan. We gave clothes to laundry and everything perfect.

Simple room. No hot water. (But excellent quality/price)

Basic but fair for the price. It was comfortable and fairly clean. Breakfast was good. Central location. Wi-Fi was great.

Quite noisy due to its location. It was very small, but okay for a few days. Kitchen was very basic.
