Water Front Home Stay and Resort

A very nice host, we had home made food there and it was lovely. The owner clearly takes time preparing the great food with local ingredients, some of which grown by his family. The owner was attentive and knowledgeable with great english.

Nothing to dislike. There are food and cafe places nearby, but it isn't in the busy bit of town if that is what you were after.

Fantástico alojamiento, el desayuno muy bueno y completo en la terraza, habitación cómoda y amplia, con dispensador de agua al lado. El dueño muy amable se ocupó de todos los detalles y me proporcionó buenas recomendaciones. Muy recomendable.

Un poco alejado del centro pero el dueño me facilitó los desplazamientos incluso para ir a cenar, esperándome para el regreso.

The whole house was clean and tidy with a beautiful garden. It was in a quiet location and it was perfect for me. I was greeted with a delicious soursop juice on arrival! There was a great restaurant a 10 minutes walk away which understood about gluten free. The room was very comfortable and thank goodness for airconditioning. Wasabtha and his wife were lovely and Wasabtha organised all my tours including driving me to Polonnarawa, picking up a the best guide, driving us around and delivering me to my next accommodation. I was actually sad to leave.

The air-conditioning was a bit noisy, however I didn't care. I was soooo grateful for the air-conditioning because it was so hot.

We stayed for three nights and were very impressed, this is one of the best home stays we've done. The host is very generous with his time and knowledge and was happy to arrange a full day tour to Wilpattu for us through his connections. This was the tour of a lifetime, we cannot recommend it enough. The house itself is very charming. The room is large and comfortable and everything is clean. There are even chairs to lounge in and filtered water. The breakfasts and dinners were also excellent and it was lovely to eat in the courtyard among the lush greenery. Such a nice sample of Sri Lankan home cooking. We're grateful for the hospitality and for making our time in Anuradhapura a highlight for us. We recommend unreservedly.

Pretty much a perfect stay.

Nous avons passé ici un super moment. Le personnel est très sympathique, et le restaurant propose de très bons plats aux épices bien ajustées. Si je suis de retour dans la région, j’y reviendrai.

We stayed two nights at this marvellous homestay, conveniently situated close to one of the city's artificial lakes and to some recommendable restaurants. Apart from our nice, practical, and clean room, it was most notably the owner, Wasantha, and his wife, who made our stay very memorable with their welcoming, friendly and open way of hosting their guests. In a blink of an eye, Wasantha not only helped us to organise a (very recommendable) tour to Wilpattu national park as well as bikes to discover the sacred city of Anuradhapura, but drove us to Sigiriya via Mihintale and Pollonaruwa himself (side note: he is a very safe driver and a super knowledgable, interesting conversational partner. He has also permanently changed the way we view elephants (and the danger they pose)... >> also totally recommendable). Last but not least, Wasantha and his wife are both very gifted chefs, who spoiled us with fantastic Sri Lankan food while we were there. After these enthusiasm, our conclusion is probably not too surprising: If you are staying in Anuradhapura, stay at Water Front Home Stay and Resort!

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage. Super gepflegt, die Zimmer tiptop sauber. Es gab auf Wunsch ein leckeres Frühstück. Die Familie sind so herzliche Gastgeber. Sie leben ihren Job. Das war eine sehr schöne Erfahrung diese Herzlichkeit und Fürsorge zu spüren. Ich kann das hier gar nicht so in Worte fassen. Es war wie ein „nach Hause kommen“! Vielen Dank!!

Diese Unterkunft gehört zu den saubersten und ordentlichsten die wir auf unserer Reise in Sri Lanka erlebt hatten. Der Vermieter, der sehr gut Englisch spricht, ist sehr gastfreundlich und hilfsbereit. Er gibt gerne Auskunft und gibt Empfehlungen zu Restaurants oder Besichtigungen ab. Er bietet selbst Touren an oder vermittelt geeignete Guides. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und ausgiebig. Man kann sich seine Wasserflasche mit Trinkwasser auffüllen. Die Unterkunft liegt in einer ruhigen Straße.

De eigenaar. De meest vriendelijke man van Sri Lanka. Weet alles over het land, helpt je graag en denkt met je mee. Gastvrijheid en fijn verblijf.
