Arbor's house and hostel

I love EVERYTHING there, I was in the room top floor with balcony view on the mountains. It was super quiet, perfect location, large room, I was happy to meet the owners and their dogs each day. Boom! So good !

There’s an air of generosity about everything at Arbor’s house. Thoroughly appreciated the quirky and fun design features and getting to interact with delightful pets was an added (unexpected) bonus. Our room was spacious, had views and a very comfortable bed with crisp white linen. What more could travellers want for. Toiletries were provided and there was no skimping or counting out the earbuds here. Water bottles could be refilled and some basic supplies were also set out for use. Located just outside the Old City walls in a wonderfully leafy neighbourhood, we enjoyed a memorable stay here - including chats with Gary.

It’s designed very cozy, feels like home. Very clean, and the host (and their amazing dogs) are so kind and responsive. I came back to this place and would be back in the future 🫶🏼

A calm, well-designed, loving place with lots of green around and close to university. Coffee-tea-biscuit was always available. Relaxed place with welcoming owners.

Wonderful hosts, great location, absolutely stunning wooden interior, rooftop terrace, hot running water every day , toiletries available, hairdryer available, the most comfortable pillow and mattress , easy to check in/out !!!

There is NOTHING I did not like about the property, but rather than - the guests , who chose to stay here. This beautiful house has got a very specific feature - SUPER thin walls ( you can hear a person snoozing , turning in the bed … not talking about anything else ) . There are signs displayed everywhere for people to respect others and keep quiet after 22:00, but guests from Europe , (not Asia ) tend to completely ignore the signs!!! People, if you choose to stay in a Japanese type house , then please learn also to respect it !!!

I stayed at Arbor's house for 10 nights in a private room (the green room). I would say it is a mixture of a homestay and a hotel. I was really satisfied with my room as I spend a lot of time in front of my computer in it. It had a comfortable chair with a desk, very good WiFi internet connection and AC (which I didn't need a lot though). There is also a common area with chairs and sofas where you could work. The bed was really comfy and the bathroom was great, the hot shower always worked and it was separated from the rest of the bathroom. For my purpose, the location was nice, it was close to Nimman area, Doi Suthep and the inner city. But be prepared that going to the inner city by foot takes 25-30 minutes because you have to go around a certain area. Bolt is quite cheap, so taking a taxi is convenient sometimes. I could have stayed longer at Arbor's house and will definitely rebook if I'm coming back to Chiang Mai! The value for money is exceptional!

It would have been nice to have one time room cleaning during my stay of ten nights. I rejected it in the first days when I was working, so maybe that's why. The cleaning lady was always very friendly and asked if I need toilet paper or a fresh towel. So I guess, I could not expect to have room service for this price!
