Countryside inn

quiet and peaceful, feels more like a village home. great scenery to wake up to. friendly elders and their many pet cats make it even more homely.

no covered parking even for a two wheeler, no food joints, no shops nearby. it's pretty rural in that regard. power outages occur frequently which can affect the air conditioner (even though, I used it sparingly, bcos the weather was very good)

Hosts were lovely and provided us with lunch for a small additional charge. Balcony outside room was nice and property is well located for visiting the nearby palace.

Great place in beautiful surroundings. Ideal for backpackers looking to explore some less known corners in the region and to people visiting the spectacular Padmanabhapuram Palace, only 5 minutes away by foot. The facilities are very basic (no AC, but fans do the job) but the room and shower were very clean and the family running the place is lovely.

Nice house near the Palace. Beautiful views from the rooftop over banana plantations. Clean und everything seemed quite new and in a good condition. Free filtered drinking water was provided upon request.

Upon arrival were given the choice between a cheaper fan room on the rooftop and a more costly AC-room on the first floor. We really liked the cheaper rooftop room for the nice views, but staff told us, wifi would not be available on the rooftop, only in the AC-room on the first floor, so we opted for the latter and paid more. Later, after we had paid and were connected to the wifi we found out that there was actually very good reception all over the rooftop the whole time. We were promised a list of some nice places to eat nearby (the host's wife said she would ask her husband to send it to us), but nothing was ever sent. One a side note for travellers: The Palace is 500 INR for foreigners now (Indians pay 50!). This sort of discrimination should be forbidden!
