NZBreakfast variety was ok.
Hosts were seriously weird. Too worried about COVID to be running a bnb. They hovered over guests, it was creepy. There was no guest access to make a cup of coffee/tea. No TV or radio in room. My room had net curtains which were shredded due to sun damage and should have been removed. The view of the harbour was minescule (obscured by the neighbours roof). The quantity of shampoo, conditioner and body wash was miserly. A tray with coffee /tea was offered in the evening but I was told they only had one thermos for hot water and two lots of guests needing it so I would have to use it quickly-why not get another thermos or better still allow guests access to the kitchen to make their own. Parking was tight for two lots of guests-why was an additional space being taken up by a non roadworthy car? These hosts have no idea about providing good hospitality. I would not recommend them to anyone.
NZThe family was very friendly and obviously hard working, and we felt privileged that they shared their special place with us. Being far from light pollution, the night sky was amazing . The facilities were very comfortable.

DEThe view is amazing! Everything was exactly like in the pictures and the Hill Top Retreat is really a beautiful place! Room and bathroom are big, the bed is very comfy and Sylvia is great. I felt very welcome. Thank you:)

AUSylvia and Jeff were excellent hosts- welcoming and friendly. Their amazing property is in a stunning scenic position on the hills south of Blenheim. The guest area is private and extremely comfortable. Everything is kept spotless and the room’s outlook takes in the gorgeous surrounds. A vehicle to get to and from is essential.
Although it was not a problem accessing some cooking facilities from the family kitchen, as Sylvia made it clear that we were welcome to do so, a separate self catering facility would be preferable and a little more space for relaxing also.
