Quinta do Gestal - Soutelo - Retiro Rural no Minho Natureza & Sossego perto de Braga

Location is 15min walk into Soutelo where we found a very good cafe that did great coffee & crossaints. A further 20 min walk takes you into Vila Verde, which is a lovely town as well. We found some local walking routes and over our 6 nights there is was a nice retreat to get back to. Lots of towns and villages within 15 min drive. We loved it, Christina & Fransisco were on hand as needed....thank you both.

Super nice accommodation, comfortable bed, great view, Camino around the corner. Main street directly in front, no sounds/disturbances. WiFi perfect. Little coffee machine safed my mornings. Also little fridge present. Warm sheets/thick pillows available in bed (if necessary), bathroom clean and comfortable, nice smelling soap. All in all a perfect stay for busines/short trips.

Heating in Portuguese houses during autumn/winter time is challenging... was possible to get the room comfi in the end, but heating/ventilation is just over the door, so no effect on the bed (around the corner).

Francisco was an amazing host, very helpful and when we got back home we realised my daughter had left a ring and a necklace in the room! I contacted him and he posted it to me in the uk :) Would definitely stay again Thankyou

Lovely grounds and beautiful room. Very quiet and comfortable.

The property was very difficult to find and access, but once that was accomplished, everything was excellent.

Lovely location, garden and ducks pool :) The room was nice, comfy bed, kind and helpful host, provided fruits from the garden.

There was some noise coming from a nearby facility. I remember booking a room with kitchen, but got none.

Spacious room. Very clean. Good bed. Good working, silent airco. The shower had enough space for a large person. The water pressure of the shower was good.

At arrival there was no one to meet. I found a gardener in the back of the garden. Who i want to thank. He helped me with a lot of trouble to enter my room. It turned out they had sent me an entry code for another room by whatsapp. I do not have whatsapp, never used it. I think it's quite inappropriate to assume everyone has a smartphone. We are not all zombies, yet.

the location is great, close to many historic cities and sights in Northern Portugal.

the entrance to the Quinta is actually through a (yellow) gate on Rua da Ribeira and not on Rua do Casal.
