Joyful Guesthouse#IslandHosp

The guesthouse was perfect for us. Great location for visiting the Thai embassy. Fully equipped kitchen. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom and it was great. The owner was lovely and helped with some last-minute panic printing!!

You felt comfortable as if you were staying at your own home. The guesthouse has friendly and helpful staffs … we also met friendly guests while we were staying there. It has a superb location if you come to Penang for a medical trip to Island hospital. To go to other places, you can easily get ‘Grabs’.

No shower curtain in the private bathroom.

Location is good, the wifi works well most of the time, sometimes it is patchy and very slow. The staff are really nice people, very accomodating and pleasant. There was a problem with a shower head which was promptly fixed when I brought it to their attention.

Soundproofing of rooms is a slight problem, especially when others speak loudly in the corridoors

Modern and clean

The toilet at the top floor has a stench of urine or/and feces, especially at the last night of our stay. Someone has gone to the toilet and did not clean it properly. The whole floor smelt like a sewerage.
