Set on the side of a mountain with lovely views. Very quiet with a cute little restaurant just under the hotel. They offer cooking classes there too

We had a 2 bedroom suite which was really nice with an excellent view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We booked 3 nights and reduced it to 2 and they were ok with that.

Breakfast and dinner not good. The location is remote so no other choice for food. We had a driver who had to wait for us on the main road. The hotel provides a tuktuk to take you the steep 600 metres to the main road. If I returned to Ella I would choose somewhere more accessible especially to have other food options

The view. That is the only positive point we saw. We had the family room. Not sure if the other rooms are better... The guy that showed us the room and pick up the luggage was very friendly. The rest of the staff was a bit strange. Breakfast is ok.

We stayed in Family Room, it was a big disappointment. Bathroom needs some repairments, so the water does not flood the bathroom. The price is too high for the real quality. Only the view is good. Some staff is strange. We receive the information that is possible to have dinner at location, since the way out is difficult. We get the menu per Whatsapp and confirm that we want to have dinner. Then we cannot find the place there to eat. We ask a lady (afterwards we understood is part of the owners!!), where we can eat, and she does not speak good english and tell us there is restaurant there, only outside. Fortunately we had a late lunch, so we just went early to bed without dinner. Afterwards (during breakfast) we understood that she is the one that cooks for the guests! So very confusing information. The worst stay in our holidays. I'm sure there are other places in Ella that have also a great view but are better! I would never return to this place.

Amazing location, just a short walk on the train tracks to main city, or to Ella rock Staff was so friendly, helpful and just amazing Would definitely stay here again

Udsigten var helt fantastisk, alt andet var så helt utroligt dårligt.

Vi blev kontaktet af personalet efter den første nat, de ville spørge os om vi ville flytte til et andet værelse. Vi sagde pænt nej tak, vi nød udsigten på terrassen udenfor vores værelse. Personalet blev ved med at spørge os, selvom vi gentagende gange sagde, at det ønskede vi ikke. De stoppede ikke, og de bad os om at flytte til et andet hotel, selvom vi havde booket 4 nætter der. Det var virkelig en ubehagelig oplevelse.

La vue est super belle surtout au lever du soleil, nous etions dans la chambre 201 et c'est clairement la meilleure, avoir une baignoire avec cette vue c'etait genial. Je dirais même que c'était notre meilleur logement au Sri Lanka. Le petit dejeuner etait excellent, le personnel adorable! L'accès à Ella city en suivant les rails pendant 20min a pied est un gros plus, on faisait ce trajet tout les jours, c'etait super pratique, on y a croisé des petits oiseaux et singes le long des rails. Pour avoir ensuite fait un autre logement à Ella (Ella Camelot), je trouve le rapport qualité-prix largement meilleur au Rainbow Sky Cottage, je vous le recommande les yeux fermés!! Dommage qu'on ait pas pu prolonger notre sejour au Rainbow Sky Cottage!

Quand il pleut l'eau de la baignoire ne chauffe pas. Le wifi n'a quasi jamais marché et l'électricité sautait quand il pleuvait mais bon c'est la montagne donc faut s'y attendre et c'est rien de grave. Le gerant de l'hotel prenait du temps à repondre mais bon nous y etions pendant le nouvel an Tamoul donc il devait être assez occupé ! On ne lui en veut pas.

The view was amazing. Good breakfast. Accommodating staff.

A bit away from main town, but they offered free shuttle with tuktuk so it was no issue. Worth it for the view :)
