Guesthouse Nýp

A wonderful guesthouse with a wonderful view from the bedroom, we saw the sunset from our bedroom at midnight, it was very magic! The guesthouse is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. I suggest to taste their breakfast, it's very delicious.

Guesthouse Nýp liegt in den Westfjorden an einem wunderschönen Fleckchen in the middle of Nowhere. Die Besitzer sind Künstler und haben das alte Farmhaus zu einem Kleinod verwandelt. In jeder Ecke liebevoll arrangierte Details. Leckeres, wertiges Essen. Gemüse wird in dem eigenen Gewächshaus angebaut. Eigener Naturstrand und kleiner Wasserfall incl.. Gerne wieder.

Wegen sehr später Buchung meinerseits, war nur noch 1 Zimmer frei. Es war schon sehr klein und zum Gemeinschaftsbad muss man fast durch das gesamte Haus laufen. Treppen incl. Ansonsten alles top. Die unteren Zimmer hatten alle ein eigenes Bad.

Lage ist sehr abgeschieden, ideal für die, die die absolute Ruhe lieben. Sehr schöne Umgebung, auch das Meer ist nur 5 Minuten von der Unterkunft entfernt. Auf Wunsch und in Absprache kann man gegen Aufpreis Frühstück und Abendessen haben. Unterkunft ist im minimalistischen Stil gehalten.

Im Zimmer nur wenige Ablagemöglichkeiten, Fußboden im Flur und teilweise Wände, auch im Bad, reiner Beton, muss man mögen. Treppe zur Küche und Essbereich im 1.Stock ist sehr steil und mit wenig Auftritt.

Location is stunning! The common areas are very nicely and tastefully designed, with a rather cool and minimalist style that fits the surroundings perfectly. These spaces are great for relaxing and offer a pleasant atmosphere. There’s a wonderful selection of beautiful and interesting books available—many of them about Iceland and local plants—which we really appreciated. Definitely a strong point. We didn’t try the meals, so we can’t comment on the food.

Our room and bathroom were not very functional. It wasn't just about the size, but rather how everything was arranged. It was difficult to move around and find space for a suitcase. The shower had one of those curtains that sticks to your body and doesn’t really prevent water from spilling out. The towel was placed so close to the shower that it was easy to get it wet. It was also very cramped between the shower and the sink. It felt odd because the surroundings are very spacious, yet in the room itself, it often felt like just 20–30 cm more would have made a big difference in terms of comfort and mobility. Another issue in our room was a strange smell in the bathroom. The bathroom was clean, but there was an unpleasant odor and a gurgling sound in the shower drain whenever the toilet was flushed. We suspect it was related to the septic system. It wasn’t very pleasant, as we’re quite sensitive to smells in the bathroom.

Ubicado en un lugar único, con acceso al río y a la playa, en medio de la naturaleza y la paz. Personal muy agradable. Casa especial, ubicada en una antigua granja con vistas espectaculares al mar. Le dan verdadera importancia al arte y la literatura, dejándote libros en la habitación y ofreciendo un rincón de lectura, además de una cocina compartida bien equipada.

Alles hat uns gefallen. Es war einfach nur wunderschön- das Haus, die Einrichtung, die Umgebung. Wir waren maximal begeistert.
