Ella Nimal Nest Inn

We had a really memorable stay at Back of Beyond’s Junior Resort. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the setting is truly stunning – a remote, peaceful location where you really feel immersed in nature. The team organised an excellent safari for us in Yala National Park, and our guide was extremely knowledgeable, which made the experience even more special. The tents were cosy and comfortable, and we all slept well, with the fans keeping things cool and a lovely sea breeze coming through. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was a real highlight, and we weren’t bothered by insects at night. That said, the tents could do with a little maintenance. In both tents our group used, the doors didn’t fully close and there were some small holes in the mosquito nets. It didn’t detract too much from our stay, but it’s something to be aware of. The food was delicious throughout, and the team did a great job accommodating our group’s dietary preferences, including preparing non-spicy options for the children and providing vegetarian choices. Overall, this is a rustic, back-to-nature experience with plenty of charm. A great choice if you’re looking to switch off and enjoy being surrounded by the wild.

First and foremost, Nimal was a fabulous host. The rooms are fresh and modern, the views were breathtaking, breakfast was delish, and the location was a perfect 8 minute walk into the "hustle and bustle" of main street Ella.

Nimal ist ein super lieber und aufmerksamer Host. Er war sehr freundlich, hat uns Tipps für die Umgebung gegeben und es gab leckeres Frühstück. Das Zimmer war sauber und die Betten sehr bequem. Immer wieder gerne! Auch die Aussicht war genial :)

Die Lage war für uns perfekt. Es sind 15min Fußweg in das Zentrum. Der Inhaber hat uns viele tolle Tipps für Wanderungen gegeben und wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt sodass wir unseren Aufenthalt noch verlängert haben. Der Aubschied fiel uns schwer. Vielen Dank für alles, Nimal!

- Frühstück top, preislich mit 1200lkr super und qualitativ mit das Beste auf unserer Reise - Ausblick top - Lage gut, ca. 10 Minuten fußläufig nach Ella City

- Ausstattung wurde mit Kühlschrank und Safe angegeben, es gab ausschließlich eine (kostenpflichtig) befüllte und zu teilende Minibar auf dem Flur. Als wir Nimal darauf ansprachen, gab dieser an, nichts davon zu wissen. - Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig, in zwei von 3 Nächten bellten die Hunde aus der Umgebung lautstark. - Wenn wir Fahrten oder Aktivitäten selbst organisiert haben, fragte er immer wieder nach den Preisen. Selbst wollte er uns eine völlig überteuerte Fahrt für 4000lkr pro Weg zum Little Adams Peak anbieten. Als uns unser Roller gebracht wurde, kam Nimal dazu und stand ungefragt die ganze Zeit dabei. Ich empfand es als sehr unangenehm und aufdringlich.

We were fine but this location would not suit anyone with mobility issues or if you are unfit. It’s quite a walk from town and initially very steep. Lots of people stay in this road and tuck tuks navigate the journey to and from town easily. From the breakfast area it’s stairs to your room. I don’t think this is entirely clear from recent reviews. Our room had no tv which was ok with us but might not suit others. Our room had a little patio with bean bags and a table and chairs

Nimal, der Gastgeber ist sehr herzlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Er hat nicht nur ein tolles Frühstück zubereitet, sondern uns auch bei unseren Wanderungen beraten! Die Aussicht auf Little Adams Peak und die Berge ist bezaubernd, der Balkon und das Zimmer sind sehr schön und zweckmäßig. Fußläufig zum Ortszentrum 8 min. gelegen. Es war ein unvergesslicher Aufenthalt. Vielen Dank!

Nice room with a spacious terrace giving a wonderful view of Ella rock and Little Adam’s Peak. Nimal is a very kind and helpful host. He prepared us a very tasty breakfast every morning. Just 10 minutes walk to center of Ella along tracks. Definitely recommend!
