No. 31 in Valletta

The room is located right next to the St. John's Cathedral and very close to the bus station that connects the whole island of Malta. The bed is comfortable. The whole bathroom is relatively new and as shown on the photos.

The check-in process was difficult. We had booked quite last minute and arrived late. After a staff member asked to provide our arrival time, we were only told that he would arrive 15 minutes later. We had to wait until around midnight in front of the cathedral (the location given for the room) until he finally signaled us over instead of a few words of welcome. The employee then showed us the room and only started preparing it for occupancy in our presence – which we believe should have been done beforehand. He charged us the room fee in an unfriendly manner and appeared annoyed when we questioned the extra charge of 3 Euros compared to the booking price (which was a tax as it turned out a few day later). The room leaks. Since it had rained just before our arrival, there was a puddle on the floor. One of the beds was placed directly over it, leading us to suspect that they attempted to conceal the damage. The room seems to be designed for a queen-size bed, not the twin beds provided. We only discovered the puddle by chance. Had we placed our luggage there when the puddle was not there, it would have been completely soaked by the next rain arriving a day later.

Excelente localização, mesmo no centro de valeta Cozinha equipada

O quarto localiza-se num 3° andar sem elevador. Camas e almofadas não são muito confortáveis. As almofadas são baixas. As almofadas e colchão não tinham resguardo por baixo dos lençóis. Torradeira não funcionava e não tinha microondas. Não tem shampoo nem gel de banho. O isolamento sonoro não é muito bom, e dado que se encontra mesmo no centro da cidade, por cima de bares e restaurantes, algumas noites ouvíamos bastante barulho vindo do lado de fora.

The location and the room were amazing. Robert, the host was also very friendly.

• Beware: 3 flights of stairs (3 × 24 steps plus 8 more steps) to room. No lift available. • kettle & 2 cups provided - but no tea or coffee provided • it would have been nice to have 1 bottle of water in the room upon arrival • several broken fixtures (bedside lights, sink plug, ac remote control missing battery cover, door handle to room was not securely attached) • flat bottom sheet did not fit mattress (too short) and did not remain in place - a fitted sheet would have been much better • we stayed 5 nights. No clean bedding provided. Room was not cleaned over 5 days. We emptied the garbage to the 'common area'. Extra towels and toilet paper were provided on day one
