This is the second time this year i am staying here,this time i got a small rom arround 6 qm with a bunkbed and a normal. The rom had no windows and no ventilation and stinked of old swett...so if there was a fire i would had been rosted alive. This house obwesly consists of the total of 8 to 10 rooms that are not legally in order by the city regulations.

The place is simply horrifying. It is an house where the landlord rents some of the rooms. The room and kitchen are old and dirty, unusable. The house is covered with newspaper.

When I found out my husband had booked this accommodation for our 3 night stay in Stavanger for the two of us and our 18yr old son, I was rather apprehensive. This was made worse by my son reading out some of the very negative reviews on google while we were en route. It’s effectively a kind of hostel, with about 6 rooms to rent. These were occupied predominantly by backpacking young men or bikers on our arrival but afterwards a few couples arrived. The property is pretty old, but the room we were in (two single beds and a bunk bed) was clean, with a little shared balcony. The bedding was also fresh and clean. Towels are provided at a charge but we had brought our own so I can’t comment on those. The kitchen is shared by all and was kept pretty clean the whole time we were there. We didn’t do any proper cooking there so can’t comment on the appliances much. We did take advantage of the large amount of fridge space though. It’s all pretty old but if you expect that from the start it’s ok. There’s also a large freezer that can be used if needed. The bathroom and toilets were pretty clean. I think some people mix up cleanliness with newness. Nothing here is new but everything is basic and functional. Shower worked fine the one time I used it. For us the location was OK, because we had a car, but if you don’t have your own transportation I’m not sure how easy it is to get into town. It’s one hour’s walk away. There’s a supermarket within walking distance. Bring your own slippers if you can. They ask you to take off outdoor shoes but the guest slippers they off are rather grotty/work so was happy I had my own ones with me. For anyone trying to save money while traveling it’s a good option.

I’m not sure if I would come here as a woman alone (not that it’s not safe, but personally I would feel apprehensive to share bathrooms etc with strangers on my own). Walls were quite thin (e.g. we could hear when phone messages were received by phones in the room next door) but thankfully the residents there were relatively quiet when we were there. There were places for padlocks on the outside of our room door, which was a bit weird.
