The location is right in the middle of Jiufen old town. The room was clean and in japanese style. There is a minibar with free snacks included. The owner was very friendly and helpful.

The location was good and it was quiet.

We really can’t believe this place has a 9 star rating. When we went to check in at the stated time, we reached out to the staff and were told the room was not ready and we could leave our bags in an unsecured room. We finally got in 1h45m after check in time. The room was clean but definitely worn out. The shower looked Kline what I imagine a prison shower looks like. The tiny hallway you enter was filled with cleaning supplies, towels, and garbage. Even though we had the air conditioning on, the windows were covered with condensation, making the view useless. Plus, the condensation rolled down the windows and onto our clothes and bags, essentially soaking out stuff for the rest of our trip. The blind looks like it has seen better days. This was by far, the worst place we stayed in Taiwan.

I didn't know communication was phone only and that you had to pay by cash. I had to withdraw at a convenience store ATM and pay the 100 NTD fee. Other than that : perfect

The staff (Candy) was really kind and thoughtful. The room was beautiful as well as the view from it. There were various free snacks in the room with a kettle. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, I didn't want to get out of it! The bathroom was pretty with a curtain separating it from the room, which as Candy said is a traditional Jiufen housing design. The room is cosy. Wonderful, would definitely recommend. Even though there is a bar upstairs, one can hardly know it's there - it doesn't disturb one's peace in the room at all (we stayed from Sunday till Monday). We were also able to put our luggage in before checking in which was very convenient for us.
