Kona Magic Honu Room

Great location across the street from Magic Sands beach. Tucked in back in a quiet area of the complex. Very clean bathroom and bedroom with a comfortable bed. Host Mychelle very nice and knowledgeable of the area. Enjoyed my stay.

The location was great--close to Kona with the beach right at the end of the driveway. The hostess was perfect--helpful when we needed help, and left us on our own when we didn't. Even though we were sharing her space, she was not intrusive at all. The room was clean and very comfortable. When our plane was delayed, she helped us negotiate adjusting our car rental and waited up for us to arrive (much later than the original plan!).

I didn't understand from the original description that I was renting a room that is part of a condo. I was fine with that, but didn't know at first that that is what I was looking for when driving there.

Atmosphere was exceptional, host was barely there, didn't barge in to "check" on anything. Hottube and pool were just okay. Not very hot water at all. Barely warmer than the pool. But the host had nothing to do with that, she's great. Site is not beach front and has barely any "ocean view" that is false advertising. Which is why this review isn't 5 stars.

Mychelle is friendly, helpful, easy to communicate with and made sure I was settled into her home before she went off and did her own things.

Location. A bit cheaper than hotels.

Wasn’t as described as there was no hot tub/spa in the bathroom. There were no snacks provided. The fruit bowl on the kitchen table had a rotten fuzzy lemon in it. The kitchen, living area and Lanai were almost filthy dirty. The host’s bedroom door opens to your bedroom door and she leaves hers open. The lighting is funky colors throughout and very dark. The led flashing lights weren’t my style. The bedroom window opens to a public walkway/hallway and with no a/c it made for a noisy location. It was hard to keep a cool room with choosing between noise or air.

Our stay was amazing! The location was perfect, and everything was spotlessly clean—which is very important to me, as I have high standards when it comes to cleanliness. The place had all the necessary amenities, and the host was absolutely wonderful and extremely helpful. Highly recommended!

Very clean, located across the road from the ocean shore. The owner is nice and tries to accommodate renter's needs.

It is essentially a small bedroom in an apartment, with a bathroom across the hallway. The guests may use the owner's kitchen and maybe a terrace too, but both are part of the main living room, which remains in owner's use. Carpet in the bedroom is long overdue for replacement. The place is cluttered, decorations reflect the owner's taste (see pictures). Bed sheets were washed using a strongly scented detergent, so we could barely sleep. If you are sensitive to smells - worth mentioning it ahead of time, the owner would correct that. There are 2 cats present - it was not a problem for us, but worth noting if you have allergies. The apartment is in a large 4-story apartment block. It is generally quiet, but since there is no A/C and windows are always open, any outside noise is heard perfectly. We were unlucky - somebody was loading a truck outside at 3am, and again at 6am. All the above would be OK for a $50-100 price point, but at over $200/night it is way too expensive.
