Truong Huy Homestay

The staff was the sweetest and the food was absolutely delicious. Everyone went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful!

Owner was extremely accommodating and helpful with everything… bicycling, renting motorcycles dinners, drinks and any questions. Our room was lovely comfy bed, balcony…we didn’t use due to chatting with other guests, good a/c or fan in the room. Lovely peaceful village atmosphere with lots of rice paddies in view and things to see all around the little streets.

Wonderful stay in Mai Chau, great value. Perfect for a few very chilled out days. Family was so kind and lovely, very helpful with information on the local bus to leave to Hanoi. Able to accommodate vegan dinner (e.g., peanuts, tomato tofu, bamboo shoots, fried cabbage, spring rolls) and breakfast (french roll with peanut butter, sliced tomatoes, and shredded cucumber and carrots) with fruit and coffee. Bikes for rent were in excellent condition (single speed)

Dorm beds very firm mats on the floor (typical for Asia and not a problem for me, but heads up if that's not your thing). Bring your earplugs for morning traffic and roosters. Bring your bug spray for the evenings (bed net provided for dorm room 👍)

Poor air quality in Mai Chau - due to open burning - something the local authorities must control before it gets increasingly worse.

The place is in the rice fields what creates beautiful atmosphere and experience. The owner is such a nice guy who loves to gather people, talk to them, invite his friends and enjoy gatherings. We loved Mai Chau because of its calmness, peace, local people and culture. It is still not very touristic so you can see local Vietnamese life and their routine. We rented the bikes and visited some villages, waterfalls, it was just amazing to be surrounded by the landscape of mountains and rice fields The dinner was lovely, we liked it so much and we ate a lot!

Truong Huy is an amazing host and his homestay is very cozy and has great views. The food in the homestay is delicious.
