Nhà Cổ Lao Xa Homestay Hmong & Bungalow hot air-conditioning

A real homestay in a remoted town during the ha giang loop. For sure you should stay in this place if you are doing the loop.

The man who runs this with his family was SO friendly and enthusiastic. They served a delicious Vietnamese dinner. After dinner the man and his father played traditional instruments and sang and danced for guests. Enthusiasm of host, great dinner, and musical performance almost override the deficiencies in the facilities themselves. We enjoyed walking through nearby cornfields, watching cultivation of gardens, playing rocks game with local children.

"Private" room was not completely separate -- it was open about 8" around the sides and top and the doors did not lock at all or close securely. We were staying in private rooms to avoid covid exposures, so this did not accomplish our goals. There are only two bathrooms for the three "private" rooms and dorm (~12 guests) to share, and family members seemed to use them also. They were not very clean. It appears the family is just getting set up to be a homestay -- there was construction going on --, so I would anticipate they will improve these problems.

The boss is friendly and the wifi speed is good.

Because it is in the mountains, there are more bugs, but the boss will provide mosquito nets. Also, remember not to come to this hostel at night! Be sure to come during the day! Because the mobile phone card will have no signal on the way here, and if you ride a motorcycle, you will get lost.

amazing authentic homestay in the middle of beautiful Ha Giang. the sleeping arrangements and bathrooms are basic but that is part of the charm I would say. An extensive local dinner was served and we ate every last bit of it! The family entertained us with some unique music performances and we had a blast.

loved all! however be aware that it is basic and nothing compared to a hotel.

The bed room was so big and clean. Also, bed was so comfortable to sleep. I could got exceptional sleep. The bathroom was also so clean. I could spend time at this place as I live my house.

The family is fantastic! Very helpful and kind. The dinner and breakfast were tasty. The bed was super hard but comfy.

We had some great time in Lao Xa village, the family is amazing, the village ambiance make you feel you enter a new world away fro everything. We slept there on Saturday and been in a traditional Hmong market on the Sunday with the owner and it’s family for breakfast. A true experience thanks again
