Green Papaya House

I loved my stay at Green Papaya house, I can highly recommand that place. The people are so nice and helpful, you feel at home. The room are big and the bed very comfortable. I will come back for sure!

My stay at the hotel was amazing; the owner Agus and his family were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place for a warm and delightful experience.

Green Papaya House is a family-owned accomodation. The family is living on the same property, but there is also additional staff for cleaning and cooking. The guests get the best treatment ever, with a choice of home-made freshly prepared breakfast that always comes with delicious fruit. The swimming pool is clean and very well maintained. The environmentally concious host family has a gallon of drinking water for the guests to fill their reusable bottles to avoid plastic waste. The area where the house is situated is outside Ubud, walkable distance from Uma Anyar and Sumampan waterfalls. There is also a great family-owned outdoors Candra spa at a 10-minutes walk distance. Some local food providers and shops are nearby. If you like a calmer setting with Ubud downtown still at a reachable distance, with an excellent value and warm-hearted hosting, this place is for you.

The taxis sometimes wanted extra money for the pick-up because of the distance from Ubud center. There was always a solution and the extra fees for transport were not considerable overall. Just be ready for longer waiting time or rent a scooter/car of your own.

The accommodation is run by a wonderful, loving and very attentive couple. Nothing is missing. The breakfast can be chosen every day and fresh fruit was served every morning. You can also buy typical local dishes for little money during the day. There are several good restaurants and beautiful waterfalls within walking distance, which are well worth a visit. Ubud and many other sights can be reached quickly and cheaply by scooter. I felt so comfortable at Green Papaya House that I spent the first two and spontaneously the last week of my 7 weeks there. I would very, very much like to come back.

I can't think of anything to complain about for the price. You really have everything you need here and wonderful support from the host.
