Krishna Villa

The porter called me a car to the station and offered some fruit for breakfast. The only pleasant part of this experience.

Don’t stay there if you enjoy sleeping…or hygiene. The rooms are adjacent to a large echoey hall. The staff stays there all night playing loud music, talking loudly and slamming doors. I remarked to the porter that the noise is keeping me awake, which initially had some effect, but within a few minutes the music, loud talking, and door slamming started again. I eventually managed to fall asleep with a pair of earplugs, only to be awaken at 5am by the same noise. In addition, hard bed, filthy pillows, dirty room, ripped sheets, no water in the shower, no toilet paper and the place in need of complete renovation. I can imagine a cold war era Bulgarian hostel would have provided more comfort. Zero starts.

Location

This place offers very basic facilities. The room we had was a bit damp, rundown and noisy. No hot water for the shower. Breakfast was continental but basic. Internet was an issue. Service was friendly thanks to the nice man at the desk.

This was a well-located place to stay in Badami, just off the busy main road away from the noise. The room was very spacious and well equipped.

It was a little overpriced compared to our stays elsewhere throughout India, but this seems to be consistent with Badami accommodation prices.
