Hong Thu Homestay & Bungalow

We loved staying in this special homestay and having a lovely dinner with the other visitors. Pack warm clothes in case it’s cold at night and make sure to have dinner with the host, it was so enjoyable and she went out of her way to make vegetarian food!

The bungalows might be a better option if you value more privacy as the rooms are only divided by thin wood, but this wasn’t an issue for us. :)

The owner is very friendly and enthusiastic. Comfortable bed. It’s a really peaceful village. The house have good food. We will come back here.

Thu is just a wonderful host who warmly welcomes you to her homestay. She prepared an amazing dinner and breakfast for us which gives you a great glimpse into the national cuisine. The homestay offers all you need for a great overnight stay for the loop. Despite having the option to go to the Bungalows we had chosen to stay in the Double room as this was clean and comfortable enough for one night.

That we had to leave after one night ;-)

The hosts were so friendly and they cooked great food. There also happened to be a party from Hanoi, who invited me to join. 10/10.

Owner was always helpful, always aiming to please

Noisy guests in the next room made for a miserable night. No fault of the owner though.

Great, quiet homestay

The place is nice, the staff is friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the bed comfy. Really nothing to complain about. The only thing I would like other travelers to know: Be careful when making your booking! I booked a "double room" based on what I saw on the pictures. There were 6 or 7 pictures in total, the majority of which showed one of the many bungalows and its interior. However, this is not where you will be staying. The actual double room is depicted on only one of the pictures. It's smaller and located on the first floor of the main building which can be seen on the first picture if I remember correctly. To make this very clear, this is not a criticism. Everything was well done. I just wanted to give other travelers a heads up.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hong Thu‘s Homestay. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful. The dinner was delicious and vegetarian friendly (on demand). Moreover, the bungalows are comfy and nicely designed.

This Homestay was our introduction to North Vietnam in a village setting. Our hosts were outstanding providing us with a beautiful evening meal and breakfast.
