Murali Guesthouse Hampi

I loved the location, the food and the staff at Murali, who made me feel home since the first moment I arrived. They helped me a lot in planning my trip and, next time I visit hampi, I will definitely stay. Plus, the neighborhood is very friendly and organizing cooking lessons and henne. Highly recommend to anyone visiting hampi who wants some local vibes.

Hey there! Hope this review helps you! About how I found this place: I was going through 100s of reviews to find a good place for me to stay. As I have mentioned before that I was traveling alone, I wanted to absolutely make sure that I'll have a safe and comfortable stay. One of my friends suggested this place after going through the reviews. And I liked the description of this place, as it is jointly managed by both Murali and his parents. I had a nice jovial conversation with Murali before booking and booked a room at his place. About reaching home stay at Hampi: I was traveling to Hampi for the first time and I reached early in the morning. Murali was kind enough to give me proper directions even before I boarded my bus at Hyderabad for Hampi. He checked on my whereabouts through out the trip as he knew I was traveling alone. He came to pick me up at Anugundi cross road (some 7km alone from his place) in car, as I had mentioned that I have huge baggage and that I was traveling alone to various places. About the Home stay: I reached the home stay and I checked the place out for myself. These rooms are situated right next to the canals. And as you can see in the pictures, they are hut like structures with greenery around them. I'm a plants mama myself, and I loved how those plants were arranged and how this place had that exuberant vibe with plants and string lights around them. The rooms are spacious with all basic amenities you would need for the stay. I thought the price is reasonable enough. About the hospitality: I later visited his parents place as well, which has other home stay rooms. Murali and his whole family are lively and kind, and you can have a nice conversation with them. Also for few extra bucks, you will also get home cooked food by Murali's mum, yummmm. All of this makes you feel like home. If you have any issues, you can reach out to them and they would be happy to help you out.

The booking was very easy and Murali got in contact with me right away. When we didn't arrive in time he got worried and called me, making sure everything was fine. Once we arrived he walked us to our rooms and showed us around. His family welcomed us warmly, we got offered tea and the mom made delicious dinner for all of us. We got included in the family life and the dad helped us to organise our trip through Hampi. The rooms were basic, but comfortable with fresh sheets and a nice big bathroom and the price was absolutely reasonable. We decided to start our day at sunrise and the dad took us around in his Riksha all day for a very good price. We only had one day in Hampi, but thanks to Murali's and his family's efforts we managed to see all the main attractions within those 12 hours. We had a really amazing time and I can highly recommend the Murali Homestay. :)

Amazing staff, great food, the owner listened to our requests and she helped organising a scooter and a riksja temple tour for us. Also very playful dogs (and chicken).

Location is a bit out so you're stuck with dinner (which was great, but leaves you little choice). The prices for the food weren't very transparent, although they are not very high, it's still nice to know what you're paying beforehand.

The Ambience & the location was perfect, the Host was a friendly guy who will help you with locations, food , bike rentals etc..
