1. Hospitable and helpful host/ hostess - I was really impressed by how Putu greeted me through whatsapp, like, IMMEDIATELY after I made the booking on booking.com. I was blown away by how welcoming and accommodating he was from the get-go, before I even set foot on the island. I was just so glad that I made this booking, I had a really good impression of the Balinese people because of him and his family. Couldn't have asked for a better host, really. I know all the other guests have already left a review about this but was still soooo touched when I met them in person. My husband and I had so much fun with them and they really made our ten-day trip worthwhile, despite us only having stayed in Serongga Guest House for 3. 2. Fun interaction with the host's family members, who are all kind and kindred spirits ❤️❤️ 3. The experience of living in a traditional Balinese house itself! The host, Putu, gave us a very interesting and detailed tour around the structures, including the temples on the site. It was definitely more than I expected, something that most tourists wouldn't have had the luck to see even if they wanted to! 4. Having a masseuse/ healer coming to the property to give us an insightful massage :) I was pregnant and he could actually 'sense' the baby's gender correctly! He also told me the root of some of the chronic pains that I suffered. Simply amazing. 5. Fun and freaky dogs to pet/ interact with - animals play such an important role in the Balinese lifestyle. My husband had so much fun with their dogs :)

1. Not having hot water - but the hostess boiled some and sent it in buckets to our room, so it was manageable 2. chickens cuckooing at the weirdest of hours - 2,3,4 am??? Was freaky for light sleepers like me but funny 3. The prices at some of the places that the host took us was relatively high - sth. to consider if you want to be more prudent on your spending

If you come to Bali, please do yourself a favor and stay at this fantastic homestay. You’ll become part of a beautiful and caring family. We ended up here by accident because we missed our flight and had to stay in Bali for three more days, and it turned out to be some of the best days we had in Bali. The place is stunning. You will stay within a Hindu temple garden, which is incredibly calm and relaxing. The room is very clean and has air conditioning. The bed and bedsheets are comfortable. But the best part of the experience is the wonderful people. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food was fresh and delicious, and they even did our laundry. Our host, Putu, arranged a special reflective massage with a local healer who is highly professional and possesses unique skills and knowledge. Putu’s amazing wife translated during the healing process. The following day, Putu took us on a tour of the surrounding area in his brand-new car. We experienced a traditional Balinese dance and saw incredible local craftsmanship, including beautiful jewelry and stunning wooden statues. We visited a lovely, not-too-crowded temple and enjoyed delicious food at a local warung. Afterwards, Putu took us to a coffee plantation where we tasted 13 different kinds of coffee and tea. We also visited local waterfalls, night markets, and ended the day at a black sand beach. The family shared their cultural with us, and we even had the opportunity to learn how to make offerings, which was a very interesting and lovely experience. On our last day, Putu took us to the airport. I was a bit sad to leave and would give this guesthouse 100 stars if I could.

The owners are super friendly and happy to share their culture with us. The garden is beautiful. They have a family Balinese temple at home, we were invited to go in and Yuri explained the details and answered many of my questions. It was beautiful to watch the mum in law doing morning offerings. They also kindly offered us to park our rental car in their garage. The village healer' massarge was certainly an interesting experience, quite painful sometimes, but I felt really relaxed at the end.

It would be great if the kitchen provides more choices for dinner. No hot water shower, it is not an issue for us but most villas I stayed in Bali have both cold and hot water.

Beautiful environment and lovely room. The hosts Puti and Yuli were wonderful and made us feel at home. Food was fantastic and the ambience of the place was wonderful. Will definitely stay again if our schedule allows!

The reviews, as you can guess, are too good to be true. Here are some highlights: - It is written on their page and in the search engine on Booking they provide airport transfer; they don't. Nevermind. - The place is in a village in the middle of nowhere and there is nothing around except for stray dogs (also, a matter of taste, some people love village tourism) - There is no hot water (neither in the shower neither a kettle to make yourself tea or coffee at any time, you can only order from them when they're not sleeping, again warranting unnecessary interaction) - The owner is extremely pushy, annoying and obnoxious. It almost feels as if he is suffering from anxiety. You won't have one second in peace alone outside your room (and sometimes even inside), he'll hover around you all the time asking questions, proposing tours or doing some other unnecessary stuff. - One of those unnecessary things: he keeps making 'order' on your own table in-front of your own room, removing things at will without asking you, even your stuff. I found this outrageous. But worst of all, all these smiles, care and calling you "family" bla bla bla is totally fake cause besides money nothing interests him in the end. Don't be fooled by that.

All in all besides a nice garden for pictures and a comfortable bed there is nothing in here. I couldn't wait to leave after witnessing all this behavior. That's why I'm leaving 1.

The property is a traditional Balinese place. It has a beautiful garden with authentic Balinese temple and other architectural structures. It exudes peace and tranquility. The place is managed and operated by a very kind, thoughtful, and friendly Balinese family who also lives in the property. The place really provided an authentic Balinese experience to me, which is relaxing, calm and so Zen.

Uli and Put(and more family members) are the most friendly and helpful couple. Speak good English for good communication. Perfect for this solo traveler who was feeling a bit in need of friends. And they are friends now. Their family compound is lovely and well kept. Had a great massage by an acquaintance of theirs and went to a water purification ceremony with offering made by Putu's sister Cade. Love them so much I took a dog their young daughter rescued to the vet. Maybe you can see how Puti is doing yourself.
