The owner is very kind and keen to help. The view from the place itself is magnificent.

The food was mediocre and overpriced. All the meat had tonnes of fat.

We stayed at pavi home for a week and it was a really great relaxing experience! All the people were really friendly and helpful. Not everyone could speak perfectly english, but we got a long very well! We used google translate when we had struggles. We also tried to pickup some Vietnamese! The food is really great and tasty. I read that some people complained about when they did not have some food like bread in stock, but honestly you are not in 5 star hotel where you would expect that. You are in a quite remote village in the mountains, so that's life here! There a few shops and restaurants around with 5 to 10 minutes walk, but mostly you could get everything in the pavi home. Try to book arrange a taxi pickup with the owner prior to arriving as it is 250k and not like taxi where you pay ~400k. The owner is also very helpful when it comes to arranging day trips and recommendations where to hike and walk. You can rent a scooter for 150k per day (expect some bumpy and narrow roads when you go to other villages). We had an amazing stay, had good conversations and a clean and nice room with AC and hot water. They also have 4 nice pets! 2 cats and 2 dogs. And if in doubt, just go and ask or talk to the people, they try to help you the best they can!

From some conversations with other guests we picked up that some rooms do feel a bit moisture and have a bit of smell. Ours did not! Because they have pets expect to have some dirt from the hair.

It was a bit difficult to communicate with the staff, as they don’t speak English properly. They were super kind and after some minutes we found the way to understand each other, but ideally the communication should be a bit easier.

-The view. - The room and property is decorated very aesthetically. - Away from Sa Pa town and in the middle of nature - Tiny cats and dogs keep you entertained all day. - The guy host helped us arrange hikes from the homestay and taxis to and fro Sa Pa.

- There is water clogging in some rooms in the shower which takes about 30 minutes to drain fully. We were told it cannot be fixed. - No room or toilet cleaning done for 4 days. - Expect bugs, insects, snails and mosquitoes in the room. - Guest can access shared kitchen but it’s not clean. - breakfast is very limited (Pho, eggs and pancakes). The food menu is also limited. They ran out of bread for two days straight. I had to got up to the hill to the supermarket to get bread for my family. you may have to walk down the hill to find other restaurants. We cooked our own meals everyday. - Kitchen closes early depending on when the staff leaves so order food early. - The helper has an amazing poker face and refuses to help even after you ask her help using Google translate. - you may not be offered more water once they run out of it. The nearby mini market is 5 minutes walk up the hill so get your own supplies. - You may be refused beer and water if the owners leaves for the day. - The service and hospitality was quite the opposite what the other reviews say. Kinda felt hostile sometimes. Found out that the owners are moving out and setting up another homestay. Maybe the reason for it. - There is no aircon in one of the rooms even though it’s listed on booking.com. so please double check once you arrive. - The water pressure is aweful in some rooms. We were told it cannot be fixed. Had to request to move to another room which was given the next day. - The bed is hard hard. so be sure you are okay with it
