Tangkoko Ranger Homestay

Very close to the entrance of Tangkoko National Park. Tours are offered, and there is good, affordable food right next door. Alfrets speaks good English, responds quickly to inquiries, and staff in general are very helpful and committed.

We would not recommend the Mount Tangkoko tour (12-hour adventure - apparently the route hadn’t been used for years and had to be cleared with a machete). We were not proactively informed about this. The birding tour is also relatively expensive (about USD 100/day). Best value are the morning and evening tours inside the national park.

Perfect for visiting the park, just in front of the entrance. Very simple, convinient and clean room. Very quiet. I recommend the full day visit, our guide Jud was perfect

We had a great room. The setting is lovely and it’s a great location for visiting the national park. The staff were very friendly and helpful and Alfrets organised a really good two day birding trip with an excellent guide Jun. There is a nice restaurant just over the road for lunch or dinner. It’s great value but has a limited menu. There is decent WiFi.

La gestión por parte del dueño. Habíamos quedado en que nos venían a buscar al aeropuerto, que esta a algo mas de 1h del alojamiento y veníamos ya con 3 vuelos y dos días de viaje, a las 6:00AM. A las 7:30 aun no había aparecido nadie. Le estuve escribiendo por aquí y nunca contestó. Tuvimos que coger un Grab. Para la vuelta pasó lo mismo, porque allí no hay Grab y tenían que llevarnos. Le contacte un día antes y no contestaba. Hablamos con los que trabajaban allí y nos dijeron que ok al transfer a las 8:00AM. Al día siguiente a las 9:30, nadie había venido a buscarnos y el no contestaba. Menos mal que no salimos el mismo día que volábamos o no hubiéramos perdido el vuelo. No entiendo muy bien esta dejadez y estas pocas ganas. El sitio está bien, pero yo no lo recomendaría.
