Sapa Hmong Bungalow Homestay

The hosting family was incredibly sweet and helpful. We went on a hike with Ashoua’s daughter and it was incredible. When I got sick, his wife made me tea and juice to get better (she even went to buy mango for me!). The view from the rooms left us speechless.

I think this is a matter of expectations, we are slightly spoiled and since there wasn’t an AC and there were some insects we were uncomfortable. If you’re looking for a homestay, a little far from Sapa town, and don’t mind the bugs and heat this place is absolute perfection.

Die familiengeführte Unterkunft liegt abseits der Stadt Sa Pa, circa 20 min mit dem Auto entfernt. Sie ist umgeben von schönen Reisfeldern. Sie bieten eine Trekking Tour an, welche sehr zu empfehlen ist. Das Zimmer ist geräumig, sauber, jedoch ohne Klimaanlage. Frühstück gibt es mit den anderen Bewohnern zusammen.

Durch ein handgroßes Loch im Bungalow kommen viele Mücken in den Schlafbereich. Das Netz um das Bett herum ist nicht groß genug, um sich komplett davor zu schützen. Auch im Badezimmer bewirkt das Loch eine Besuch von ungewünschten Kriechtieren. Ebenfalls ließ sich die Tür zum Badezimmer nicht vollständig schließen.

The location of the homestay is beautiful! It is out of the town, very quiet, and next to the mountains and beautiful rice paddies. Extremely tranquil. The rooms are simple but have everything you need. Ashoua and his family are also very welcoming! We ate dinner with them and breakfast, and we organised a motorbike tour and a 2 day hike. We went up to O Quy Ho pass and heavens gate, and 2 waterfalls (silver waterfall and love waterfall), and got the most beautiful views over the town and the mountains, and went on a 2 day trek to Ban Ho town. The trek was amazing, we went up mountains, through rice paddies, through towns and bamboo forests. It was definitely off the beaten path, we didn't see a single other tourist the first day, and the second day we saw 2 other tourists. If you are looking for an adventure and an authentic experience, you should definitely stay here!

The property is 20-30 drive minutes out of Sapa town. This was not a problem for us, and we only went into Sapa town for 1 day, to go to Mt. Fansipan. Everything else (trekking, motorbike) we left from the homestay.

The private rooms were very nice and quiet. Loved the meals we had together with everyone! The staff were the friendliest and nicest people! Went trekking with two of the daughters and it was the best experience!

Authentic, peaceful, beautiful atmosphere. Super friendly hostess. It’s 15 minutes drive for the town, so you’ll be disconnected in a good way. Very simple, very quiet.
