Dồn Dao Homestay

I spent a wonderful time here! The family don't speak English, but they hosted me very kindly. We ate a dinner together in really warm atmosphere. And the food is Awesome! It's the best one I've eaten in Vietnam.

We stayed for 1 night in a bungalow and had dîner at the Don Dao homestay. The bungalow has a stunning view on the rice fields. It was very clean and the bed very confortable. It can be a bit cold in the winter but the duvet is warm and cosy. The highlight of our stay was the dinner with the family from the Dao ethnic group. Every thing was delicious and we spent a wonderful evening chatting with the owner Phuong via Google translate and drinking the local corn alcohol.  An authentic place where we felt welcome at all times.

A wonderful experience staying with a local family and experiencing a very small part of their daily life. There was another celebration happening during our stay which was very special to be apart of. Dinner was very delicious and shared with the family which was very nice. Comfortable room and hot shower.

No heating in the room which was very cold, but a nice warm duvet helped! Hot water took a long time to heat but once hot it was great.

Out favorite night during the Ha Giang Loop, we chose the bungalow and that was very comfortable and nice. It had the best bed we have ever slept in Vietnam. The dinner with the family was as well super tasty!

A very beautiful homestay! we stayed in a cosy, clean private room with a stunning view. the family was very welcoming and accomodating of our needs. they prepared a delicious hotpot dinner for us and took us out for breakfast the next morning. the family gave great recommendations for our journey along the ha giang loop. a little outa town but definitely worth it!

the dinner was more expensive than at other places (150k per person). but the overall price-performance ratio is still great.

Beautiful quiet location in the mountains and off the typical tourist trail for homestays. The family are very welcoming and the food was delicious. The room was perfect, rustic with a roof made from bamboo (no water leaking through in the storm we had!). And the family even moved our bikes under the shelter during the night when it started to rain.

The mattress is pretty firm but honestly that is very typical for anywhere that you stay along the Ha giang loop.
