Serena riverside homestay - Tràng An

The staff at the family fun homestay were absolutely wonderful, they were so friendly and helpful.

Pretty setting. Lots of beautiful nature. Some of the staff were very nice.

The worst thing was seeing the rabbit cage stuffed with 2 dogs at the back of the property. The golden retriever didn't have room to stand up. Cruel. I worried for their fate. The food was not very good and they constantly got our orders wrong.

The accommodation was clean and located close to many attractions. The person from the homestay I was messaging on Whatsapp sorted all of our issues.

We had difficulty communicating with the staff. The room was not serviced or cleaned each day. The access road from the main road was in very poor condition and very muddy. The shower did not have a divider, curtain or screen and the toilet and bathroom floor got wet.

Fun family

The facilities are amazing. Everything is in great condition from the floors to the mattresses. The pool is very nice as well. In general the property is very well maintained and pleasant.

Nobody spoke English....just hello and bye. It was difficult to communicate about food, tips about what to visit or just to ask about anything. The person that communicated with me for the booking etc. is a consultant that is not at the homestay. The menu was limited and sometimes they did not have even an extra piece of bread if you asked for it. One time I got the wrong food and one time I was not asked what I wanted for breakfast, they served me what they decided. I believe COVID hit them quite hard and it has been difficult for them to recuperate. If you are a solo traveller you may feel isolated.
