I recently stayed at Silibin Ipoh guest house, and I must say, the only redeeming quality of the place was the size of the house. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was quite disappointing. Firstly, no towels were provided, and the host did not inform us beforehand. This is quite surprising, as it’s very rare to encounter a homestay that doesn’t supply basic necessities like towels. The hospitality in the house was very basic. The TV didn’t work, and we were told that maintenance could only come on Monday. Since we were only staying for the weekend, this was quite inconvenient. A functioning TV is a basic amenity we expected to have. The worst part of our stay was the condition of the air conditioning and fans. The air conditioner was old and did not cool the room properly. Additionally, one of the fans in a room was not functioning at all. Furthermore, two of the rooms had bloated tiles that made a cracking sound whenever we stepped on them. This was both uncomfortable and unsettling. Overall, while the house was spacious, the lack of basic amenities and the poor condition of the facilities made our stay quite unpleasant.
