A lot of random materials used to create and decorate this place, and it felt too cluttered. Whether by design or necessity, it's taken on a shanty appearance. Judging by the reviews, it clearly has its fan base, but it wasn't to my taste. Also, most of the numerous plants on the premises have been overtaken by weeds and dust. Probably better not to have any if they can't be properly maintained.

John's hospitality and homey, cool design of the place. The neighborhood has abundant offering of local food and a good walking distance or quick grab ride to city center and major attractions; The common area is cozy and quiet, very suitable to work and read. Most people staying here are very respectful too.

John is friendly and helpful. The property has such a cozy atmosphere. Loved calm and nice view from my bed. There are two kittens that John is taking care of outside and they melted my heart!

Definitely one of my favorite hostels in Vietnam. Would return to da lat just to stay here. Lots of places to sit and chill or work quietly. Everything is provided - drinking water, towels, soap even toothpaste! John is very helpful and has great English.

There was a dog barking every morning at 7am right outside the hostel. Not the hostel's fault. There seemed to be some random /unnecessary items in the hostel.

It’s a spacious building with several floors, a tiny and cozy rooftop, a common area, nice and friendly staff. I stayed in the dorm and a private room and both were clean and comfy☺️ Great value for money 🙌
