The Seaside Bungalow Hostel and Bar

This is a very special place. It's about a 10-15 min bike or car ride to Hoi An Old Town, but a 3 minute walk to the beach. Plus, the ride to the Old Town takes you past beautiful rice fields with local farmers riding their buffaloes, so you get a view of local life. The beachy, tropical feel of the environment is what makes staying a little further from town so worth it. Plus, the hosts/owners, especially Vy, are incredibly welcoming and helpful. They are wonderful people who will do anything to make your stay more comfortable. My first night there, Vy sat down with me, drew on a custom map of Hoi An to show me where everything is and all her recommendations, personally walked me to my room and showed me how the AC/lights/water heater work, then had me meet her back at the lobby a few minutes later so I could get on the back of her bike and she could drive us down the road to the beach restaurant and I could get some dinner. I felt so safe and comfortable. The showers are in a mostly covered, but not fully enclosed space attached to your fully enclosed bedroom (at least that was the case for me, I stayed in a private room). So, I did encounter mosquitos in the shower area but it wasn't too bad at all. Just felt like a rustic, tropical experience with a big bedroom, high ceilings, comfy bed to sleep in. Free breakfast in the lobby area is a great way to meet people - my first morning here I instantly made a friend I spent the rest of the weekend with. Plus there are doggies and kittens everywhere, as the hosts also run an animal rescue. Animal lovers paradise. Highly recommend staying here.

It was such an amazing stay. Vee and her husband hosted beach parties, bbqs and karaoke nights. Me and my cousin had the best time. I would recommend to anyone solo travelling as everyone that stays here is welcoming and friendly.

Friendly, helpful staff and owner rescue dogs and cats shuttle until now they have opened this place for 5 years

As i myself is working in hospitality industry for 15 years, this is my experiences for first time review - Totaly no hygiene: they keep the rescued cats shuttle next to dining area and dorms rooms. They clean the shuttle but i still has bad smell all time.Anyway, never eat next to this,it is danger - Room i stayed :800.000 vnd/night( private room upstairs).It’s ok, simple with open roof bathroom.however again,bad smell of rats,dusty and unclean room,the fan look like unwashed in few years.the top nest dirty. Midnight, rats visited me from the broken roof.Nightmare in total. - Images on Booking is a scam.Keep in mind that far from beach 500meters - They diacount 200.000 because of the rats.

Social but chill, lots of areas to both socialise or just be antisocial curl up with your book. Right near the beaaaachhhh and out of all the hussle and bussle of the city but close enough that it’s easily accessible. The owners are sooo kind and accommodating and are happy to help with any questions info bookings.

Would be nice if there was two curtains on the beds.

Didn't like the 21 cats enclosed in a cage totally getting mentally disturbed... What an horrible experience about people who pretend to rescue animals to make them live in such terrible conditions.. Very sad, and smell of urine just next to the restaurant.. Don' t know what to say.. It's Self explaining.

This hostel is truly special. The owners care deeply about every guest, and make sure your experience is perfect. There’s a very laid back but social atmosphere, allowing you to socialize whenever you want, or just lay back in a hammock and chill. Great food, free shuttles to town twice a day, lots of cute animals. My favorite hostel on my trip.
