Free filtered water to refill your bottles. Location is OK. Walking distance to some sights and to the centre of the town, where we found some nice local places to eat, e.g. Monalisha Restaurant: very cheap, tasty and friendly staff.

Room was next to a common area, very noisy, you can hear every word spoken as if the people were right inside your room. No real privacy, and you can't lock the door. No mosquito screens, room and bathroom were full of mosquitoes. Breakfast was tiny: One small banana, three slices of plain toast, one egg and one cup of tea. There was no extra food offered, and we always left hungry. Room was not really clean (very dirty mirror etc.). There was very little hot water in the bathroom, and only bucket style. We had the feeling that the hosts expect you to buy a tour with them and/or eat dinner at their place, and as we didn't, the atmosphere towards us felt rather cold. In our opinion this homestay is overpriced and not good value for money.

Breakfast was average. But I must appreciate the host for their warmth welcome with love and affection

The Host family -Rumi mam, Manna da, children all are very loving, felt at home away from home, served Delicious dinner, Tea made from cow milk from their own cow.Younger son is a very good artist made a portrait of mine with in no time. Got some of my clothes washed by them in their washing machine.It was a wonderful time spent in a typical village of Tribes.. Missing Tribes who lost everything by Brahmaputra erosion. The host is very industrious. ❤🌹😍Met with Dr Hemchandra Goswami padmasree award winner for Mask making art at Samaguri Satra.

Little expensive.. Good quality service comes with a higher COST.

The location is very good. It is very near to kamalabari ghat. The owner Mrs Rumi Hazarika is an excellent person. The bamboo house/rooms are very cosy and very well decorated. The taste of food is very good though lunch and dinner price little bit high in terms of items offered. I took dinner and only dal, one veg curry, pickle, papad is offered along with non veg item. In Assam, assamese thali consists of 2-3 veg curries along with 2 types of cereal/dal along with 2-3 more items...in short 8-10 items are offered in assamese veg thali , but here you will get very limited number of items though these items are freshlly cooked and Mrs. Rumi Hazarika cooks really well so more or less high price compensates the taste and quality of the of the food. In bamboo house, you can see through the gaps of bamboo floor that fishes are playing around in water. The bamboo houses are kept high from the ground due to flood in Brahmaputra river in rainy season. 90% houses in Majuli island are made in this same manner. You must try apong (local rice beer) in Majuli and can be arranged locally.

Majuli faces lots of power cut off issues and that is a problem of Majuli area. Though Mrs. Rumi Hazarika provided inverter powered current to room and bathroom along with fan. Though geyser was not working even if there was electricity. I went for sightseeing with her husband who has little bit casual approach in sightseeing and open and closing time information regarding the places. I was not able to see Auninati Satra cause it was closed and I wasted 30 minutes time for lunch which I can skip if I were informed about closing time of Auninati Satra. Moreover there is a village called Samora Gaon which is famous for pottery and it is only 5.5 km far from Dakhinpat Satra. He took me to Dakhinpat Satra but didnt take me to the salmora village and when I asked him about the village he said me it is very far and at other side. I believed him and did not check in google but later when I came back I found it was only 5.5 km far. I was being taken from homestay to Dakhinpat Satra (15.9 km) , then to Samaguri Satra (5.3 km) , then to Bengenaati Satra (13.3 km) , then to Uttar Kamalabari Satra (5.5 km) , then to Joha restaurant (4.1km) , then to Auniati Satra (8.7 km), then again back to Homestay (4.1 km). So total 56.9 in round off 57 Km travelled and paid INR. 2500. The car is Nissan X trail probably and has mileage (claimed by comapany) 13.7 / litre if I even take 13 then 57 kilometer required approx 4.5 litre petrol . Majuli petrol price is 100 so INR. 450 was the petrol expense. So per kilometer expese is 450/57 = INR. 7.89 lets take INR. 8.00 . But I was charged 2500/57 = 43.85 round off INR. 44 which is INR. 36 per kilometer profit. The car is big and price around 11 lakh probably but I am not the first taking rent . Neither I asked for such big car, not even required. I would have not write so much about it but I felt bad that Salmora village was near to Dakhinpat but still not been taken there and been told it is very far.

The property owner will make you feel homely. Her efforts to keep the guests content with the existing arrangements are phenomenal. Will love to visit the place again, especially for the nice pickle She prepared.

The weather remained rude during our stay at Majuli and that was the only suffering faced by us.

I had very good experience while staying in the Homestay. The atmosphere was very homely and the food was very tasty and very hygienic at the same time .The house owner was very cooperative and polite.

Hospitality of the host family was top notch. Food was very nice for my liking, simple Assamese style items and extremely tasteful. Location is very convenient to go around Majuli. Felt totally like my home.

This is a home away home. Very neat and beautiful property. Best part of the stay is the owner’s politeness and simplicity. She cooks amazing dinner. Tip : Ask her for Olive pickle. You will definitely be amazed by the taste.
