Great view

Friendly staff, nice view and you can walk by foot to waterfalls (but it’s about 600m in altitude downwards from hotel).

MOULDY!! Our bed and bed linen were wet and very mouldy. When we sat on the bed and stood up our clothes that touched the bed would be wet. When we commented on this they changed the sheets but the new sheets were wet too. We asked for new pillows and got even mouldier pillows. I think they gave us the best they had in the start which was in a horrendous state and smelt so bad of mould. The room itself was also mouldy and the shower didn’t work until 10am the next day. They also said that we were in the best room so we could not change room.. When there was nothing more to be done from the staffs point of view we tried to leave the hotel (8pm) but there were no taxi anywhere to be found, also Gojek/Grab don’t work there either. We were literally stranded up in the mountains until next morning. So we slept on the only non mouldy blanket with two medium mouldy towels as sheets with the door wide open to air out all the mould spores. To be fair, it is a very humid environment and the house gets covered in clouds so it is tuff to keep things dry, but this was crazy. Maybe a fan could help… We paid 270K for a night which might seem cheap but I wouldn’t sleep here even if someone paid me 20M. We have stayed in a lot of different hotels in Indonesia for a month now so we know they can be quite crapy but this was next level.

Fantastic views from balconies of both rooms, could see the coastline of north Bali and the volcanos of Java when clear. Access down a steep track to the waterfall hike. Red Coral 15 mins away. Beautiful jungle gardens with fireflies at night, villas set apart by steep steps lined with flowers. Rooms were great, clean and comfortable (just a bit musty, being quiet and wet season). Recommend for fit and independent travellers due to location on top of hill before Munduk village and the road is not safe for walking on. Fine for folks who like steps and have scooters, and the plus side of that is it’s a safe, quiet and private location. Staff are friendly but don’t have much English. Unobtrusive, no hassle but they are there by Whatsapp if you need them.

There were a couple of serious time lags in delivery of food and laundry. Possible miscommunication issues?

Our room was very clean, well equipped and spacious. Great balcony view and waterfalls within walking distance. To get to other locations, you may need a scooter, which can be arranged through the stay for a cheap price. After a long hike, we booked the Bali traditional massages (the external therapists come to your room) : great experience and amazing price/quality. Breakfast included, delicious and delivered to the balcony. Overall a 10/10 stay, and Ery made it an 11/10 stay. No question was too much, and he went out of his way to deliver a great customer service. Thank you, Ery.

Just know that there is lots of up- and downhill hiking in this area, including lots of stairs in the stay which was no problem for us, but could be difficult for some.
