We were extremely disappointed with this guest house and believe that the information on Booking.com is misleading to guests. First of all, the listing states that there is a barbecue area available. In reality, guests are not allowed to use it. The host explicitly told us that she does not permit barbecues because “students might see it and also want to use it.” In other words, the barbecue area exists only “for show,” but guests are left misled and frustrated. If a facility is not available, it should not be advertised! Secondly, the so-called “fridge” in the room is simply ridiculous. It is so tiny that not even a standard bottle of wine fits inside — only a single can of soda. On top of that, it barely cooled anything at all, so our products stayed warm and basically went to waste. We brought steaks and other food with us, expecting proper facilities as described, and ended up in a very unpleasant situation. To make matters worse, the sink in the bathroom was unbelievably small — about the size of an A4 sheet of paper. It was extremely inconvenient to use on a daily basis and only added to the frustration. Also, there is no proper restaurant on-site, even though the description makes it sound like dining would not be a problem. The host told us that there are restaurants in the nearby village, just a 5-minute walk away. That is true — there are several restaurants there — but when we arrived, all of them were fully booked. It turns out you need to make reservations in advance if you want to eat there, but we were never warned about this. In the end, we had no choice but to eat low-quality Chinese takeaway instead of enjoying a proper dinner. Very disappointing after a long journey. In the end, what was promised and what we actually got were completely different. This feels like false advertising and a very dishonest approach to hosting. We travel a lot, but this was the first time we encountered such a blatant mismatch between description and reality.

The owner was very welcoming and the room is impressive with a lot of care put in all details. Breakfast served in the morning is a treat!

La camera era molto luminosa, pulita e confortevole. Il bagno era situato proprio all'esterno della camera ed era fornito di tutto. Con 6 euro abbiamo ricevuto anche la colazione in camera (scones con confettura e panna, latte e succo di frutta). Comodo il parcheggio. Possibilità di rilassarsi nel giardino, cosa che però non abbiamo fatto per motivi di tempo. Tutta la cittadina è bellissima, tranquilla e accogliente.

La connessione wi-fi nella nostra camera era molto debole e quindi non abbiamo potuto utilizzarla.

Great location, a few mins walk from village. Very well run and added bonus of optional home baked scones and orange juice in the morning, which was a real treat.

Exceptional accommodation -design and decor. Fionnuala’s super scones each morning - there was nothing amiss. Highly recommend.
