Mungaru Homestay, Talaguppa

This is a lovely peaceful place on the edge of Talguppa with good views over open countryside. It is 10 min walk from the railway station and easy reach of buses to visit Jog Falls. The owners are friendly and considerate, going out of their way to make sure I enjoyed my stay. The room is clean and comfortable with a nicely tiled bathroom, plenty of hot water, a comfy bed and windows with flyscreens to keep mozzies out. Meals were very tasty, brought up to eat in the dining area, and there's a balcony too. I really enjoyed my short stay and would happily recommend this as the best place to stay if you want to visit Jog Falls.

For the price, I cannot fault it.

Hospitality of the homestay owner was very good. They were always available for help and guidance. The homestay is surrounded by paddy yields which creates the positive vibes to stay in this place.

TV and Wifi options can be provided which have become minimum amenities in recent years.

The homestay is close to the Railway Station and Bus Stand. The host, Nischay, was kind, polite and helpful throughout the stay. The rooms were quite good and look close to the images shown in the homestay posting across different travel booking sites. There is also Udupi Pure Veg Restaurant near the homestay that provides good South Indian meals.

General advice for staying in Talguppa: Recommend everyone to check-in and check-out during daylight as the street lamps mostly don't work due to which the nearby streets are mostly covered with darkness post sunset.
