Fiddler's Lake Escape

The location is fabulous, and well worth a slight detour from the main road. Quiet. Peaceful. Quirky walking trails. The lake and forest view. Morning birdsong. It was a bit cool to use the canoe and pedalo but those would have been fun. In warmer weather the gazebo would have been an oasis. We met both hosts, Christine and Karen, who were very welcoming and have put a lot of thought into their place. The kitchen was well equipped, same for the bathroom and bedroom.

I knew from photos the washer dryer was in the kitchen—it still seemed odd. This was not a big thing and I really appreciated having them.

We loved the space they have created it was so relaxing and it allowed us to just remove all the distractions and stress of our everyday loves.

A wonderful space in a good location and for an excellent price. The apartment was clean, tidy, and everything was located intuitively, so it made for an easy and relaxing stay! The property is gorgeous, conveniently located near Sydney, but far enough out that you really do feel like you've escaped from city life. I wish my personal schedule had aligned better so I could have used more the amenities offered (specifically I wish I got a chance to jump into the lake & that I was staying longer in Cape Breton so I could enjoy the free wine), but I really did enjoy my stay! The owners were also friendly and helpful. I would 100% stay again and will be recommending this space to friends and family if they ever plan on visiting Cape Breton.

Magnifique emplacement au bord d'un lac, logement parfaitement équipé, très confortable et parfaitement propre, baignade et promenade sur le lac en pédalo, parfait ! L'accueil par nos hôtes était aussi très sympa.
