This old fashioned house serves as a glimpse into Uta’s work and influence, and has thought provoking art everywhere. The shared living space provides privacy and feels comfortable when occupied. I absolutely will return!

I wish my room included a television, but I understand not having one for respect to other guests with noise.

This property was very unique, loved all of the artwork, check in was super simple, property very communicative and replied quickly. I was concerned being a solo traveler going to Detroit. The area was not bad at all, felt safe the entire trip.

I loved my stay at the Art House — the vibe and ambience were exactly as advertised. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re craving something real and artistically stimulating, this is the place. Uta is a very engaged host who makes sure your needs are taken care of. I created a bit of a messy situation during my stay, and she was very professional and focused on resolution rather than blame. I’d definitely stay again if I’m back in Detroit.

I personally liked everything. The neighbourhood might seem somewhat intimidating at first, but it grows on you. Regular street smarts go a long way.
