Beautiful spot and such great service the room had great views would recommend

The room

They are criminals and collaborate with more criminals. By WhatsApp I ordered vegan food from their partner business. On WhatsApp I confirmed the total price of 216h rp. The owner confirmed it and added that there will no extra charges. The driver gave me the bill of 226k. I took a photo of it and marked 2 positions were the prices were different. Their explanation was : we made banana and cap cay more vegan for you. But banana and vegetables are already vegan. Give me my money back and maybe a spoon so I can eat your food. The reception from Uma Dewa talked with them on the phone, said sorry and that the driver will come with my 40k back. After one hour some local man came and told me “How a Rubbish like you be in Bali!” as a greeting. He pushed me several times, touched me without my permission, shouted at me and humiliated me. He gave me 35k saying that it’s more in stead of 40k. I accompanied him to the exit. In the meantime the receptionist were touching me without my personal too. When I was back in my room, I was trying to call the police - they didn’t pick up, emergency telephone number for Indonesia provided by Booking.com - “call failed”, I contacted Booking.com “we will reply within 48h”…, my travel insurance - only fix call possible but with my eSIM impossible. I started to pack my bags. The reception came and knocked to my window door : “I need to talk with you face to face. Go out!” “I need to rest after this traumatic agresion you served me. Give me peace!” - I replied. “I will call the police!” - she. “Yes, please, call the police. I will tell them that you don’t register your guests as you should and offer them to prolong their stay outside Booking.com with only cash payments.” - I said. The police didn’t come. Let’s see if I will survive this night…

Really large bed, clean, private, nice room. Tea, coffee, water, kettle available. Bonus to have Netflix and watch movies. The staff were very nice and super helpful. Helped me with my luggage and ordered food to my room for me.

Construction started beside and behind my room at 8:00 am. Not the fault of the homestay though.

Staff were friendly, and the location was close to Keramas Beach and some local restaurants. The bed was comfortable, and there was hot water for a shower. The room had air con, a mini bar fridge, kettle, tea, and coffee, and there was even Netflix in the room! In the common area on the ground floor, there was an open kitchen and a lounge area. Scooters available for rent on site.

Unfortunately, what pulled the score down was the cleaniness. Upon arrival, the toilet had not been cleaned, which was a disappointment. Our room was on the second floor and the stairs were real steep. The room was on the small side for 2 people and the floor of the shower were old wooden planks with wide gaps in between that seemed like they would break and open up to the ground below.

Depending on how your view the website (via app or website), it can be a little confusing (because the desktop website doesn't show the labels properly). (because the definition of "balcony" seems to be a blurry concept) I pointed this out to the caretaker, and they seemed to take real offense to this; basically "arguing" with me and suggesting that I stay elsewhere. What an odd welcome. Anyway, there is a small fridge and a desk available. The view is not so existent... the neighbour burns fires from time to time so there is that smoke wafting over. The shower facilities are generally ok, but it's quite dim. Somewhat clean. Not amazing, but not horrendous.

The room has absolutely zero noise privacy; absolutely EVERYTHING can be heard from the other rooms -- through the floor, through the walls; it's incredible. I played some music so the other guests can notice that "HEY I CAN HEAR YOU TOO" and they were mostly respectful after that. The access to the highway is actually quite annoying from this side, but then that depends where you need to go. For me, there is absolutely nothing compelling to return for. Mediocre in every aspect.

Desi and her staff were extremely helpful, the service was exceptional along with the food. King size bed,comfy pillows and modern ensuite. Motorbike rentals onsite are well priced and convenient. Would highly recommend Uma Dewa.

Location is close to main highway, requires some travel to cross the road to head beachside.

We are very pleased with our stay at Uma Dewa, we could not have expected more. Julie and Desi are super friendly and so helpful. The room was very clean and the breakfast excellent! The scooter could be rented there the day of our arrival and laundry was fast done. We extended our booking because we felt at home and for every problem, they find a solution. I had to give online classes and they even cleaned up very deeply the area next to the pool and placed an extra light to make sure I was totally comfortable to give my classes.. Such a service is rarely found anywhere else. Thank you soooo much, I miss your beautiful smiles and wish you all the BEST. Big hugs to you.
